- Technical University Munich masters in Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology enables students to work independently on complex tasks in applied geology.
- Graduates possess a broad range of competencies, skills, and knowledge in the field of applied geology, particularly engineering and hydrogeology
- Depending on their choice of specialization, they possess not only distinctive core competencies in engineering and hydrogeology, but also additional, subject-specific knowledge.
- They can, for example, focus on tunnels and tunnelling, industrial minerals and natural stone in the built environment, alpine hazards, landslides mapping and GIS, case studies in technical hydrogeology, tracer hydrogeology and groundwater modelling or georeservoirs.
- Through numerous courses designed in group work, graduates have also been able to develop a high level of social skills and are always aware of the ethical and moral framework in their work.
- In the first three semesters, technical basics from the fields of engineering and hydrogeology are taught.
- These are accompanied by laboratory and project work. In the second and third semesters, there is also the possibility of setting individual focal points of study through elective modules.
- The fourth semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis. This is where the acquired knowledge and methodological competence come together.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Students should have a Bachelor’s degree from recognized institutions or universities.
Applicants with a Degree from Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, or Pakistan will have to submit a GRE (General) Test. Technical University Munich has defined required minimum scores, lower scores will not be accepted!
- The required scores are:
- Verbal reasoning: (will not be taken into account anymore)
- Quantitative reasoning: 157
- Analytical writing: 3.5
- The Institution Code: 7806, Department: 5199 ("all other departments").
Alternatively, students can submit a scorecard of the Indian GATE test (Computer Science; for M.Sc. CSE the Mechanical Engineering Test will also be accepted). The minimal qualifying score of the respective year is necessary.
