- Film is a form of art in its own right, but not every film is a work of art. Films are also entertainment, propaganda, and/or cultural and historical documents. Film Studies, as a hermeneutic discipline, analyzes and interprets its subjects by reconstructing the questions to which films provide the answers in pictures.
- Film Studies as a minor on the Bachelor's degree program, comprises course units (modules) in the fields of film analysis, film history, film aesthetics, and film theory.
- Furthermore, issues of media adaptation (literature to film) dramaturgy, and narratology (for example, film genres in cinema and television) are addressed.
- If Students combine a Two-subject Bachelor whose admission is open with one whose is restricted, the deadlines are: Winter semester: June 1 - July 15 and Summer semester: December 1 - January 15.
