In the "Educational Science" bachelor's degree, taking into account the changes and demands of the professional world, students acquire specialist knowledge, skills, and methods that enable them to carry out scientific work, to critically classify scientific findings, and to act professionally at an academic level in extracurricular educational fields. The course also provides interdisciplinary key qualifications.

There are no tuition fees at the University of Duisburg-Essen. All students are, however, subject to a student body and social contribution fee per semester.
The social and student body contribution for the winter semester 2021 amounts to a total of $387.43. However, the social and student body contribution for the summer and winter semesters of 2021 amounts to a total of $774.86 per year.
The amount is made up as follows:
- Mobility contribution (ticket): $253.41, of which $183.94 for the VRR semester ticket and $69.47for the NRW ticket
- Social contribution for the Studierendenwerk: $114.98
- Student body fee: $19.04.
The social and student body contribution is not to be paid before enrollment! Students will be informed about the payment modalities upon registration.
