Field of Study:
The aim of the interdisciplinary training is to understand the molecular mechanisms of biological processes in high resolution and to learn the principles and procedures of scientific knowledge gain in this field. These biological processes include the healthy wild type, the pathologically deregulated, and the organism treated with active substances.

There are no tuition fees at the University of Duisburg-Essen. All students are, however, subject to a student body and social contribution fee per semester.
The social and student body contribution for the summer and winter semesters 2021 amounts to a total of $774.86.
The amount is made up as follows:
- Mobility contribution (ticket): $506.82, of which $367.88 for the VRR semester ticket and $138.94 for the NRW ticket
- Social contribution for the Studierendenwerk: $229.96
- Student body fee: $38.08.
The social and student body contribution is not to be paid before enrollment! Students will be informed about the payment modalities upon registration.
