Master of Science [M.S] (Digital Business Innovation and Transformation)
Field of Study:
$1,194 /Yr
Digitization brings many challenges with it: Rapidly changing technologies accelerate market changes and intensify competition. In order to be able to keep pace here, a solid technical understanding on the one hand and business skills, on the other hand, is required. Digitization leads to completely new questions in the areas of technology, strategy, people, and organization. Traditional knowledge is often no longer sufficient to assert oneself.
This is exactly where the advanced master’s course “Digital Business Innovation and Transformation” at the University of Duisburg-Essen comes in. It is geared towards the qualification needs of specialists and executives who deal with the topics of digitization. It enables students to take on a leading role in individual digitization initiatives or the digital transformation of companies.
The skills imparted include:
- The planning, organization, and control of digitization projects with their technical and professional content
- The conception and evaluation of new digital products, services, and business models - taking into account technical, strategic, and organizational perspectives
- The planning, organization, and control of the digital transformation of organizations, including aspects such as cultural changes or necessary corporate cooperation
- The management of employees and the management of change, the digital transformation brings with it
Tuition Fees
| Year | 1st Year Fees |

| Tuition Fees | $1194 (EUR 1038) |
In contrast to undergraduate and tax-financed courses at universities, the advanced master’s degree has to be fully self-financed. The course is accordingly subject to a fee. The total cost of the course is $21,937. All related services are included in the costs (learning materials, exam registration, and participation, if necessary exam repetition). Since the specific further training in the field of digitization meets the current needs of companies, employers usually support the course financially.
In addition to the above-mentioned costs, a semester fee (currently $313 per semester for further education students who are eligible to vote (including semester ticket) or $58 per semester for further education students who are not eligible to vote (excluding semester ticket)) has to be paid at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
