Nowadays many technical products are highly equipped with embedded and control components. The awareness and importance of the software and hardware co-design are increasing and technical products have to be planned as one integrated system from the very beginning. Therefore, a discipline combining the knowledge of electrical engineering, computer science, and mechanical engineering is becoming essential in engineering and the need for qualifications in the three mention fields arises following the goal of interdisciplinary system development thus forming successful individuals.
