Technical University of Berlin Application Process

The application process to apply to Technical University of Berlin admission is as follows:

Bachelor’s Programs

• Apply via MyAssist: Visit the Uni-Assist portal and select your desired TU Berlin Bachelor's program. Only programs offering a first-semester intake will be available.
• Answer Carefully: Fill in all application questions. Do not upload CVs or certificates in place of answers—this can lead to rejection.
• Application Limit: You can apply to up to 3 programs:
  • 1 restricted admission (NC) program for the first semester
  • 1 restricted admission (NC) program for a higher semester
  • 1 open admission (no NC) program for any semester
• One Application per Program: Submit a separate application for each course. Extra applications beyond the limit won’t be considered.
• Processing Fee: Uni-Assist charges a handling fee that must be paid for your application to be processed.

Master’s Programs

• Register/Login: Create or log in to your My assist account at my.uni-assist.de. Fill in or update your personal and academic details.
• Choose Your Program: Search for your desired TU Berlin Master’s program for the correct semester (usually 1st semester). You can only apply for one program per semester—make sure it matches your qualifications. Use filters like university, degree type, and semester to narrow down options.
• Fill the Application Form: Complete the online application form honestly. You can review it anytime under “My Applications” > “My Application Overview.”
• Upload Documents:
  • Upload your documents in PDF format (max. 10 MB each). Name files clearly in German or English.
  • Upload each document once and in the correct order (e.g., transcripts, passport).
  • Use a scanning app if needed—do not send physical copies.

TU Berlin Selection Process

Once you apply, uni-assist will first check if your application meets TU Berlin’s basic requirements within 4-5 weeks. If it does, they will forward it to TU Berlin. If not, you will be notified and can fix it—as long as the deadline hasn’t passed.

Next, TU Berlin will review your application formally. You will not get a confirmation email, so check your status regularly on the Technical University of Berlin application portal using your uni-assist application number. Then, the faculty’s board will assess whether you meet the program-specific entry requirements. If the program has limited seats, a selection process follows.

Finally, you will get an admission letter via tuPORT, or a rejection letter by post.
