Bachelor of Science [BS] (Mathematics)
Field of Study:
The aim of the Bachelor (Bachelor of Science) is to impart all the basics that enable students to apply mathematical ways of thinking and working methods in various areas of application within and outside of research. In particular, they will be able to grasp and model a wide variety of questions, to cooperate with other mathematicians as well as with experts from other fields of knowledge and practitioners and, above all, to independently familiarize themselves with mathematical areas that are new to them. The following competencies result in bullet points:
- Well-founded mathematical knowledge
- Basic ability to work scientifically
- Methodological competence and flexibility
- Ability to abstract, recognize analogies and basic patterns
- Conceptual, analytical and logical thinking
- Understanding the importance of mathematical modeling
- Basic knowledge of computer-aided simulation and mathematical software
- Solving a more extensive task than a bachelor thesis.
