In the first semester, in-depth courses on analytical measurement technology in organic, inorganic and physical chemistry as well as on modern dosage forms are offered.
Two of the four compulsory elective modules (see curriculum) must be chosen:
- Selected chapters of pharmaceutical/chemical technology
- Combinatorial organic chemistry
- Inorganic materials science
- Modern spectroscopic methods

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- Admission requires a Bachelor of Engineering degree in pharmaceutical and chemical engineering, acquired at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, or a comparable degree.
- German proficiency is required for most subjects and English B2 is needed for some subjects.
- the test German as a foreign language (TestDaF) with average level 4
