Technical University Munich, M.S Sustainable Resource Management
Reviewed on Mar 11, 2021(Enrolled 2020)

It was the best university in Germany for the last 6 years and is also internationally recognized. TUM provided the best opportunities for students to get their dream job or further strengthen their research skills. This particular program caught my eye because sustainability is the way forward in the coming years and my interest was always in making sustainable societies with judicious resource use.

Course Curriculum

9

Course curriculum is well updated and they're still trying to improve wherever they can. I think an elective specially for the social science research would have been better and maybe there'll be such an option in the coming years

Exams

Since it was an English-taught course TOEFL or IELTS test scores were required. For TOEFL a minimum Test Data Score of 88 and an overall minimum band of 6.5. I had an overall band score of 7.5. A scientific essay about the topic given on the website ( 800 words)

Placement

10

TUM has got a great employability ranking in the world. I think within the top 10 in the world. Almost all students got placed in various multinational corporations like Allianz, BMW, Audi, Siemens, etc. Since we're in Munich opportunities are galore to choose from. Many of my seniors got into this kind of MNCs. Many others try their trade-in NGOs and other governmental organizations. There are others who also chose the path for further research in the desired fields.

Internship

Haven't done yet.

Events

because of the pandemic situation and I haven't had an opportunity to attend such things. Maybe in the near future, I can

Fees

There is no tuition fees. There's a semester contribution which is about 144 euros to be given before the next semester starts. This is for the student union and semester ticket.

Scholarship

No, I haven't got any scholarship as of now. I would like to check out some scholarships from the second semester onwards. I heard that there are some opportunities to get a small scholarship that at least takes care of the accommodation needs.

Faculty

9

Even though I just finished my first semester there have been quite a few good classes from the lecturers. Guest faculties were also great. I found the lectures of Dr. Thomas Knoke, Dr. Martin Dollerer, Dr. Pieter Biber, and Dr. Charles Savage extremely useful and informative.

Hostel

Flatshare types are the most common. If you're taking this course the campus is 40kms away from Munich and the rent is lower maybe 300-350 euros on average. With higher rent, you get many better-furnished rooms or close proximity to the campus.
