Admission status: Open. The January 2027 intake is accepting applications until 30 November 2026, with the primary October 2027 winter intake (deadline 30 June 2027) opening most programmes. BSBI charges no application fee, but a €2,000 (around ₹2.22 Lakhs) tuition deposit secures your admission letter and student visa file.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation admissions are decision-based, running four intake windows a year with rolling review, so most Indian applicants receive an offer within 3 to 4 weeks. The undergraduate floor is Class XII at 60 percent with IELTS 6.0 (or a waiver via English-medium schooling), while postgraduate entry needs a Bachelor’s at 55 to 60 percent plus IELTS 6.0 for standard MBA and MSc programmes.

  • Next deadline: 30 November 2026 for the January 2027 intake; the primary October 2027 intake closes 30 June 2027
  • Base tuition + fees: Global MBA base tuition €15,525 (around ₹17.19 Lakhs); no application fee, €2,000 (around ₹2.22 Lakhs) enrolment deposit
  • Eligibility floor: UG needs Class XII 60% with IELTS 6.0; PG needs Bachelor’s 55 to 60% with IELTS 6.0 (Executive MBA needs IELTS 6.5)
  • Acceptance rate: estimated 70 to 80% for Indian applicants meeting minimums; BSBI does not publish an official figure

The Berlin School of Business and Innovation is a Global University Systems institution with English-taught MBA, MSc, and BA programmes validated by UK partners (University for the Creative Arts, Roehampton, Chichester) and US partner Concordia University Chicago. Popular picks for Indian students are the Global MBA (UCA), MSc Data Analytics, and the Concordia dual-award MBA — the last one is often the deciding factor for Indian applicants who want a US-validated degree without US tuition. Student reviews on Collegedunia highlight the small-cohort teaching model and Berlin location as the two most repeated pluses.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Application Deadlines

BSBI runs a rolling admission cycle with four intake windows — January, May, June, and October — but the October (winter semester) intake is the primary window, since it maps to the German academic year and opens every programme across all campuses. Indian applicants should target October and apply at least four months ahead to give the German student-visa file enough runway. Deadlines below are drawn from the official BSBI admissions page.

Currency note: All ₹ figures in this article use €1 = ₹110.75, the live rate on 17 September 2026. Live rates may vary, so confirm with your bank before remitting.

BSBI’s primary intake for Indian students is October (winter semester) — most programmes open here.

The October 2026 window is closed, so the next live action for most Indian applicants is the January 2027 deadline of 30 November 2026. Rolling review means you can apply earlier and hear back in 3 to 4 weeks — helpful if you plan to book a visa slot in Delhi or Chennai without waiting.

Planning note: The German embassy typically asks for the BSBI letter of acceptance at least 8 to 10 weeks before your intake starts, so applying by early September for the January 2027 intake is the safer target than the 30 November deadline.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Eligibility for Indian Students

BSBI eligibility is set at the institutional level, then narrowed by each partner university (UCA, Roehampton, Chichester, Concordia). The floors below apply to Indian applicants at the Berlin campus. This section covers academic and English-proficiency thresholds only — paperwork lives in the Documents section further down.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation UG Eligibility

  • Academic: Class XII with 60% or above from a CBSE, ICSE, or state board
  • Subject prerequisite: Any stream accepted; Mathematics preferred for BSc International Business and Management
  • English: IELTS 6.0 overall (5.5 in bands), TOEFL iBT 80, PTE 59, or Duolingo 105
  • Interview: A short online admissions interview is standard for all UG applicants

Berlin School of Business and Innovation PG Eligibility

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree with 55 to 60% or CGPA 5.5/10 (three-year Indian degrees accepted)
  • Work experience: Not required for standard MBA and MSc; 2+ years for Executive MBA (Chichester)
  • English: IELTS 6.0 overall (5.5 in bands), TOEFL iBT 80, PTE 59, Duolingo 105; IELTS 6.5 for Executive MBA
  • No GMAT or GRE requirement for any BSBI Berlin programme, including the Concordia dual-award MBA

BSBI IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

BSBI grants an English-test waiver to applicants whose prior degree was completed in a majority English-speaking environment or at a university where the medium of instruction (MOI) is English. Most Indian universities issue MOI certificates on request. If your Bachelor’s transcript and MOI letter both confirm English as the teaching language, BSBI will drop the IELTS or TOEFL requirement — this is the single most common waiver Indian applicants use here.

Note: Programme-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official BSBI entry-requirements page for your chosen programme before applying.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation PG Programmes for Indian Students

BSBI’s postgraduate line-up covers MBA, MSc, and MA options across Business, Data, and Creative Industries. Base tuition for the 18-month Global MBA is €15,525 (around ₹17.19 Lakhs); the 24-month Concordia dual-award MBA is €19,440 (around ₹21.53 Lakhs). See the course-wise fees breakdown for full detail and living costs.

Note: Programme-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official BSBI entry-requirements page for your chosen programme before applying.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Undergraduate Programmes

BSBI’s Berlin campus offers three-year Bachelor’s programmes validated by UK partner universities. All are taught in English and open to Class XII pass-outs from Indian boards with 60 percent or above.

UG base tuition sits in the €11,000 to €13,000 per year band; the full three-year total varies by partner. Sixteen-year Indian schooling (10+2) is accepted directly, so no foundation year is needed. Detailed year-by-year fees live on the Berlin School of Business and Innovation fees page.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation MBA Rounds and Interview

The BSBI MBA range has three cohorts a year (January, May or June, October). Because admission is rolling, there are no fixed "rounds" — files are reviewed as they arrive and offers issue within roughly 3 to 4 weeks. This section focuses on what Indian MBA applicants actually experience.

BSBI MBA Interview Format for Indian Applicants

The interview is a 20 to 30-minute online conversation with an admissions officer, scheduled after your documents are screened. It is competency-based rather than technical — you will not be asked GMAT-style quant. Focus areas are motivation, career fit, English fluency, and how you plan to fund tuition and cost of living. No case study, no group discussion.

Executive MBA and Concordia MBA Variants

  • Executive MBA (Chichester): 18 months, needs a Bachelor’s plus 2+ years management experience and IELTS 6.5
  • Concordia dual-award MBA: 24 months, no experience required, adds a US-accredited degree at Berlin tuition levels
  • Standard Global MBA (UCA): 18 months, no work experience required, entry-level friendly

Insider note: Indian applicants with no work experience are routinely admitted to the standard Global MBA and Concordia MBA. Save the Executive MBA for candidates with genuine team-management responsibility, since the admissions committee probes this specifically in the interview.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Online Application Process

BSBI uses its own application portal — there is no uni-assist or Common App route. The steps below cover a first-time applicant from India, working end to end in about 60 to 90 minutes once documents are ready.

  1. Create your account on the BSBI Apply portal at berlinsbi.com/admissions and pick your programme, campus, and intake
  2. Pay the application fee: none required. BSBI does not charge an application fee for Indian applicants
  3. Upload passport bio page, Class XII marksheet, Bachelor’s transcript and degree certificate (if PG), CV, and personal statement
  4. Upload your IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo score — or an MOI certificate if you qualify for the English-test waiver
  5. Submit the application and wait for the admissions team to schedule your interview within 5 to 7 working days
  6. Attend the online interview and receive the decision within 3 to 4 weeks
  7. On offer, pay the €2,000 (around ₹2.22 Lakhs) tuition deposit to release your unconditional letter of acceptance for the visa file

The deposit is not a fee — it counts fully toward your first-instalment tuition. Deposit is refundable if a German student-visa refusal is documented within the timelines set out on the BSBI offer letter.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Admission Decisions

Decisions come in three forms at BSBI. Understanding which one you are holding matters for visa filing, since only one of them is accepted by the German embassy.

  • Conditional offer: issued when one document is pending — usually a final-year marksheet, degree certificate, or IELTS score. Valid but not visa-ready
  • Unconditional offer: issued once every requirement is met AND the €2,000 deposit is paid. This is the letter the German embassy accepts for the student-visa file
  • Deferral: permitted once, to the next available intake, at no extra charge; request in writing before the intake starts

You must confirm your acceptance and pay the deposit within 14 days of the offer being issued, otherwise the seat is released to the next candidate. Deferral within the same academic year is straightforward — a written request to the admissions team is enough.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Documents Required

The paperwork below is what BSBI asks Indian applicants to upload on the portal. Keep every document as a colour PDF under 5 MB. Certified translations are not required — English-language versions of Indian documents are accepted.

  • Passport bio page valid for at least 18 months from the intake start
  • Class XII marksheet and pass certificate (all UG and PG applicants)
  • Bachelor’s degree transcripts and consolidated marksheet (PG applicants)
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate or provisional certificate (PG applicants)
  • IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo score report — or Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter if claiming the waiver
  • Curriculum Vitae (2 pages, in English)
  • Personal statement of 500 to 800 words explaining programme and career fit
  • One academic or professional Letter of Recommendation
  • Work experience certificates (Executive MBA applicants only)
  • Portfolio (BA Media and Communications applicants only)

Financial proof (blocked account of around €11,904 per year, or sponsor documents) is not needed at the application stage — the German embassy asks for it at the visa interview, not BSBI. Do not upload it to the portal.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Acceptance Rate for Indian Students

BSBI does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Based on cohort intake patterns, class sizes across the four annual windows, and reported applicant flow, the school’s acceptance rate for international applicants is estimated at 70 to 80%. It is an access-oriented business school — meaning it admits most applicants who meet its stated eligibility rather than rejecting on selectivity — so hitting the floors matters more than beating a curve.

What Actually Moves Your BSBI Decision

  • Meeting the academic floor (60% in Class XII for UG, 55% Bachelor’s for PG) with clean transcripts
  • Clearing the English requirement OR providing a valid MOI letter from your Indian university
  • A personal statement that names the specific programme and matches it to a coherent career direction
  • A confident interview performance in English — no strong accent penalty, but clarity matters

Where Indian Applicants Get Refused

The most common refusal reasons are: generic personal statements (identical to competitor uni applications), a Bachelor’s below 50% with no explanation, and weak interview English. Financial capacity is not an admissions criterion at BSBI — it is checked separately at the visa stage.

Insider note: Applicants who name a specific BSBI faculty member or partner university (UCA, Roehampton, Chichester, Concordia) in their statement of purpose measurably outperform generic pitches, based on student-review patterns on Collegedunia.

Germany Student Visa Process for Berlin School of Business and Innovation Applicants

Indian students admitted to BSBI apply for a German National Visa (Type D) for study purposes, filed through the VFS Global centres in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Pune. Book the slot as soon as your BSBI unconditional offer is issued — appointments in Delhi and Mumbai run 4 to 8 weeks out during peak season.

Documents at the visa interview: unconditional BSBI offer letter, deposit-paid confirmation, passport, blocked account statement (€11,904 per year, the current federal minimum), health insurance for the first three months, accommodation proof, CV, and academic certificates. Processing runs 4 to 12 weeks — factor that into your intake choice. On arrival in Berlin, register your address (Anmeldung) within 14 days and convert your visa into a residence permit for study at the local Ausländerbehörde. After graduation, Germany grants an 18-month job-seeking residence permit so you can convert to work-visa status without leaving the country. See the Berlin School of Business and Innovation MBA programme page for post-study work outcomes.

2026 update: Germany raised the blocked-account minimum to €11,904 per year effective September 2024, and this remains the current threshold — budget around ₹13.18 Lakhs to be safely inside the requirement at the interview.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Admissions Tips and Checklist

The tips and steps below are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at BSBI. They mix insight tips with timeline-anchored action items so you can plan your application backward from your target intake month.

  • Start 6 months out: Request MOI and transcripts from your Indian university, since backlog can add 3 to 4 weeks
  • Book IELTS 5 months out: Score-report delivery to BSBI takes another 10 to 14 days, so schedule the test well before the target deadline
  • Apply 4 months out: BSBI issues decisions in 3 to 4 weeks, and the German embassy needs the offer letter 8 to 10 weeks before intake
  • Name the partner university: Personal statements that cite UCA, Roehampton, Chichester or Concordia by name pull ahead of generic ones
  • Pay the €2,000 deposit fast: The unconditional letter only releases after payment, and the visa slot depends on that letter
  • Book the visa slot 3 months out: Delhi and Mumbai VFS backlogs peak May through August every year
  • Open the blocked account early: Fintiba, Expatrio, and Coracle each take 5 to 10 working days end-to-end for Indian residents
  • Buy travel + first-3-month health insurance before the visa interview — the embassy will not accept BSBI’s own plan for the visa stage
  • Ask for the scholarship review: BSBI’s funding for Indian students waives 20 to 50% for strong Class XII or Bachelor’s scores, but you must request the review in the personal statement

Indian applicants who follow the timeline above land the Type D visa in time for the intake in about 9 out of 10 cases, based on BSBI’s own onboarding cadence for the January and October windows.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation admissions reward preparation over selectivity, so an Indian applicant who clears the academic floor, secures a strong MOI letter, and files 4 months ahead of the target intake will almost certainly reach the visa interview with time to spare. The Concordia dual-award MBA and MSc Data Analytics remain the two highest-demand routes for Indian students, and both admit without GMAT or GRE.

Ques. Is there an application fee at Berlin School of Business and Innovation?

Ques. Does Berlin School of Business and Innovation accept the MOI waiver for Indian students?

Ques. Do I need GMAT or GRE for the BSBI MBA?

Ans. No. GMAT and GRE are not required for any BSBI programme, including the Concordia dual-award MBA and the Executive MBA. Admission depends on your Bachelor’s transcript, English score, personal statement, and admissions interview.

Ques. What is the BSBI acceptance rate for Indian students?

Ans. BSBI does not publish an official figure. Based on intake patterns and access-oriented positioning, the estimated acceptance rate for Indian applicants meeting the eligibility floor is 70 to 80%.

Ques. Are three-year Indian Bachelor’s degrees accepted for PG programmes?

Ans. Yes. BSBI accepts three-year Bachelor’s degrees from recognised Indian universities for entry into MBA, MSc, and MA programmes. This is a key advantage over uni-assist-routed German public universities.

Ques. How long does BSBI take to release an admission decision?

Ans. Standard timeline is 3 to 4 weeks from submission of a complete application. The interview is typically scheduled within 5 to 7 working days after documents are screened, and the offer letter follows shortly after the interview.

Ques. What documents does the German embassy need after my BSBI admission?

Ans. Unconditional BSBI offer letter, blocked account statement of at least €11,904 for one year, health insurance, passport, academic certificates, CV, and accommodation proof. BSBI does not send these to the embassy — you carry them to the VFS appointment.

Ques. Can I defer my Berlin School of Business and Innovation admission?

Ans. Yes, once, to the next available intake at no additional charge. Send a written request to the BSBI admissions team before the current intake starts. Deposits carry over to the deferred intake.

Ques. Does BSBI offer scholarships that reduce tuition at the admission stage?

Ans. Yes. The High Achievers Scholarship waives up to 50% based on Class XII or Bachelor’s scores, and GUS alumni get a 50% Alumni Scholarship. Request the scholarship review in your personal statement so the offer letter reflects it directly.

Ques. What is the post-study work visa after graduating from BSBI?

Ans. Germany grants an 18-month job-seeking residence permit to international graduates. You can convert to an EU Blue Card or work-visa status without leaving Germany once you secure a qualifying job offer.

Scholarship

  • I received a scholarship from BSBI's end for about 40% of the amount. It amounted to about 9000 euros. My classmates had different scholarships too. The highest was 50% to one of my closest friends. BSBI offers a bunch of scholarships to students depending on the grades you receive in your previous diplomas or degrees. The usual scholarships are about 10-20% but depending on your profile, you can aim for more. The scholarships depend on the courses too.

Scholarship

  • If we paid full fees, they will give us a 30% discount, which we can consider a scholarship. That is the eligibility criteria to get a scholarship.
  • At my time they were giving up to 40% but now it decreases to 30% and other than this scholarship, there is no scholarship. If you are lucky enough, you can ask your coordinator to increase the amount of scholarship; they might help, but ask before the fee payment.
