• Phase 2 Exam Window: The NPAT 2026 Phase 2 testing window closes today, May 31, 2026. This is the last day of all exam slots for the 2026 cycle. Registered candidates who booked a slot must have appeared by today.
• Phase 2 Merit List: The NPAT 2026 Phase 2 merit list is expected in the first week of June 2026. It has not been declared yet. For context, the Phase 1 merit list was released on April 16, 2026, within about two weeks of the Phase 1 window closing.
• Phase 2 Counselling and Admission: NMIMS Phase 2 counselling and seat allotment is expected in June 2026, right after the merit list is released. Admission is purely merit-based — there is no Group Discussion or Personal Interview round for NPAT.

What is NPAT 2026?

NPAT stands for National Test for Programs After Twelfth. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted by SVKM’s NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies) for undergraduate admissions. The exam is entirely online (computer-based) and is used to shortlist candidates for BBA, B.Com, B.Sc. Finance, BA (Liberal Arts), B.Sc. Economics, BBA (Branding & Advertising), BBA (International Business), BBA (FinTech), and related programs.

NMIMS is one of India’s top private universities for management and commerce education. NPAT is the sole gateway to its undergraduate business programs. More than 80,000 students appear for NPAT every year, making it one of the most competitive BBA entrance exams in the country.

You can take the NPAT exam up to three times — one main attempt and two retakes. NMIMS considers your best score out of all your attempts when preparing the merit list.

NPAT 2026 is conducted in two phases — Phase 1 (February to March) and Phase 2 (April to May). You could register for either phase based on your convenience and readiness. NMIMS accepts SAT or ACT scores as an alternative qualification for some programs, particularly for international students.

NPAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

You must check the NPAT 2026 eligibility criteria carefully before applying. The minimum qualification and percentage requirements vary slightly depending on the program and campus you choose.

Academic Qualification

• You must have passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board.
• Students appearing for Class 12 exams in 2026 are also eligible to apply provisionally.
• Candidates who have passed through open or distance learning (ODL) mode from NIOS are eligible.
• Students with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma are also eligible.

Minimum Percentage Requirement

Age Limit

• You must not be more than 25 years of age at the time of application.
• NMIMS does not mention any minimum age requirement for NPAT 2026.

Other Requirements

• For programs at NMIMS Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Bengaluru — BBA, B.Com, and B.Sc. Finance require that you have studied Mathematics or Statistics as a subject in Class 12.
• For BBA (International Business), you need IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80 as proof of English proficiency.
• There is no restriction on the number of streams (Science, Commerce, or Arts) for most programs.

Note: Candidates who pass Class 12 in 2026 must submit their final marksheet at the time of admission. Failure to meet the eligibility criteria will result in cancellation of admission even after merit list selection.

NPAT 2026 Application Form and Registration Process

NPAT 2026 registration was available online at npat.nmims.edu from January 28, 2026. The registration closed on May 26, 2026, and the Phase 2 slot booking ended on May 29, 2026. With the exam window closing today, the application and testing stage for the 2026 cycle is now complete.

How to Apply for NPAT (Steps)

1. Create an account: Visit npat.nmims.edu and sign up with your email address and mobile number.
2. Fill the application form: Enter your personal details, academic information, and choose up to 5 schools or programs you want to apply for.
3. Upload documents: Upload your photograph, signature, and Class 10/12 marksheets.
4. Pay the application fee: Pay online using net banking, credit card, or debit card. The fee depends on the number of schools you choose.
5. Book your exam slot: After payment, log in to the dashboard and book a test slot at your preferred exam city and date.
6. Download admit card: Once the slot is booked, your admit card becomes available on the dashboard for download.

NPAT 2026 Application Fee

The NPAT 2026 application fee is ₹2,000 for one school or program. For each additional school, you pay ₹1,000 more. You can apply for a maximum of 5 schools.

The same fee structure applies for retakes as well. Registration cancellation is not allowed once you have completed the application and paid the fee. The fee is also non-refundable.

• You can apply to a maximum of 5 schools or programs in one registration.
• You do not need to register separately for each campus — campus preference is indicated during the same registration.
• You get up to 3 attempts: 1 main attempt and 2 retakes. Your best score is used for the merit list.
• Rescheduling of exam slots is not permitted once a slot is booked.
• International students or those with SAT/ACT scores can also apply through the official portal.

NPAT 2026 Syllabus: Section-wise Topics

The NPAT 2026 syllabus covers three broad areas — Quantitative Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability. All topics are at the Class 10 to 12 level of difficulty. You do not need to refer to engineering or MBA level books for NPAT preparation.

Section 1: Quantitative Reasoning

This section tests your mathematical ability and numerical speed. You should focus on the following topics:

• Arithmetic: Percentage, Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Time-Speed-Distance, Time and Work

Section 2: Logical Reasoning

This section tests your ability to analyze, interpret, and solve problems logically. Topics include:

The difficulty level of NPAT 2026 is generally Easy to Moderate. Candidates who are thorough with NCERT Class 10 and 12 textbooks and practice regularly with mock tests are likely to score well.

NPAT 2026 Admit Card

The NPAT 2026 admit card is not issued in advance in bulk. Instead, it is available on your login dashboard immediately after you book your exam slot. You can download it at any time between the slot booking date and the day of your exam.

How to Download NPAT 2026 Admit Card

2. Log in using your registered email ID and password.
3. Go to the Slot Booking / Admit Card section on your dashboard.
4. Book your exam slot (if not already done). The admit card will be generated immediately.

Important Points About NPAT 2026 Admit Card

• You must carry a printed copy of your admit card to the exam centre.
• You must also carry a valid government-issued photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving Licence).
• The admit card is not sent by email or post. You must download it yourself from the login portal.
• For Phase 2, the last date to book a slot was May 29, 2026, and the Phase 2 exam window closes on May 31, 2026.
• NMIMS also emails your admit card separately after slot booking is confirmed.

NPAT 2026 Preparation Tips

NPAT 2026 tests you on Quantitative Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability at the Class 10–12 level. The exam is considered moderate in difficulty, but the competition is high since more than 80,000 students appear every year. Here are practical tips to score well.

Section-wise Preparation Strategy

Quantitative Reasoning:

• Start with NCERT Mathematics textbooks for Class 10 and 12. Most topics in the NPAT QR section come directly from these books.
• Practice arithmetic topics like percentages, profit and loss, time and distance, and time and work daily. These carry the most weight in the section.
• Use RS Aggarwal’s Quantitative Aptitude for extra practice. Focus on the chapters that overlap with the NPAT syllabus.
• Since there is no negative marking, always attempt every question. Make educated guesses if you are unsure.

Logical Reasoning:

• Practice Venn Diagrams, figure analogies, and coding-decoding problems daily. These appear most frequently in the NPAT LR section.
• RS Aggarwal’s Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning is one of the best books for this section.
• Improve your speed on seating arrangement and scheduling puzzles. These can take more time and reduce your overall speed if you are not careful.

Verbal Ability:

• Read English newspapers like The Hindu or The Indian Express daily to improve your reading speed and comprehension skills.
• For vocabulary, use Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis. This book is widely recommended for NPAT and similar exams.
• Practice reading comprehension passages regularly. The NPAT RC passages are moderate in difficulty but require careful reading.
• Review grammar basics — parts of speech, tenses, and subject-verb agreement — using any Class 12 English grammar book.

General Preparation Tips for NPAT 2026

• Take mock tests: Attempt at least 10–15 full-length NPAT mock tests before your exam. NMIMS provides official sample papers on the NPAT website.
• Analyse your mocks: After each mock, check which sections and topics are weak. Focus more time on those areas.
• Manage your time: Practice completing 120 questions in 100 minutes. This means around 50 seconds per question. Do not get stuck on any one question for too long.
• Use your retakes wisely: Since you get up to 3 attempts, take the first attempt as a learning experience. Use the second and third attempts to improve your score based on what you learned.
• Best score is used: Remember that NMIMS takes your best score. So do not worry about a bad first attempt — just prepare better for the retake.
• Focus on accuracy in LR: The Logical Reasoning section tends to have higher section-wise cutoffs (around 28 in 2025). Make sure you clear the LR cutoff.
