AIIMS offer many paramedical courses that focus on providing students with knowledge and skills in various allied healthcare fields. These courses are offered in many specialisations by many AIIMS institutes across India. Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiology and Anaesthesiology Technology are some of the popular paramedical courses in AIIMS.

Admission to AIIMS paramedical courses is based on the AIIMS paramedical exam. The schedule and the rules regarding choice filling, and seat allocation can be checked on the AIIMS official website 

AIIMS paramedical exam is a computer-based entrance test for admission to different paramedical courses in AIIMS. To be eligible for the AIIMS paramedical exam, candidates need 50- 55% marks (General/EWS/OBC)/45-50% marks (SC/ST) in 10+2 exams. They should be from a Science background, and have English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Maths as compulsory subjects.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for AIIMS Paramedical Courses

Before applying for AIIMS paramedical courses, candidates should carefully review the eligibility criteria to ensure compliance. Failure to meet these criteria may result in application cancellation and forfeiture of the registration fee. Therefore, candidates must confirm their eligibility before completing the AIIMS paramedical 2025 registration form.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Citizenship: Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  2. Age: As of December 31, 2025, candidates must be at least 17 years old.
  3. Education: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized institution or board.

Mandatory Subjects in Class 12:

  • For Bachelor of Optometry, BSc Medical Technology in Radiotherapy, or BSc (Hons) Medical Technology in Radiography courses, candidates must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Mathematics. For all other courses, Biology is mandatory.

Minimum Marks in Class 12:

  • General/OBC/EWS category candidates must have scored at least 50%.
  • SC/ST category candidates must have scored at least 45%.

How to Fill Out AIIMS Paramedical Application Form 2025?

Students who want to take the AIIMS Paramedical Exam 2025 can apply online at the AIIMS' official website @www.aiimsexams.ac.in/. The registration process consists of 4 stages - basic registration, uploading documents, code generation and final registration

AIIMS Paramedical Exam 2025 Eligibility

Below are the eligibility criteria as laid down by AIIMS New Delhi for appearing for the AIIMS Paramedical Exam 2025 and filling out the AIIMS Paramedical Application Form 2025.

  • The aspirant must have passed 12th or an equivalent level in Science from a recognized board of education. He/she must be an Indian citizen.
  • Applicants must score at least 50%- 55% of the total marks in 12th for the General and OBC categories while candidates from SC/ ST must score a minimum of 45%.
  • Some AIIMS institutes ask for an aggregate score of 55% or higher.
  • Physics, Chemistry, English, Biology or Mathematics are compulsory subjects for applying for admission to Bachelor of Optometry, BSc Medical Technology in Radiotherapy and BSc (Hons) Medical Technology in Radiography courses.
  • However, for other courses, Biology is compulsory.
  • The applicant should be 17 years of age during the year of applying.

Subject wise Marks Distribution in AIIMS Paramedical 2025 

The AIIMS paramedical exam in 2025 will have three parts: Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics. Everyone taking the exam is required to answer the Physics and Chemistry sections. AIIMS Paramedical 2025: FAQs 

Ques. How many total number of seats are there in AIIMS for paramedical courses?

Ans. In AIIMS, there are a total of 171 seats available for paramedical courses. This doesn't include the 571 seats for B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing. However, the number of seats for paramedical courses can change each year. For example, in 2023, AIIMS Kalyani & AIIMS Rishikesh added seats for Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology (MRIT), Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), and Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) programs. So, the exact number of seats for each course depends on what the AIIMS institutes announce. 

Ques. What are the exam day guidelines published by AIIMS?

Ans. Arrival at Exam Centre:

  • Candidates must arrive at the exam centre at least 30 minutes before the test begins.
  • Reporting time for candidates is strictly 8:45 AM.
  • No admittance will be granted after 9:45 AM.

Exam Duration and Restrictions:

  • Candidates are not permitted to leave the exam hall before 11:30 AM.
  • Necessary items to bring include the admit card, a valid photo ID, and one passport-sized photograph.
  • Textual materials such as books or notes are prohibited.
  • Electronic devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, or calculators are not allowed.
  • Personal items such as wristwatches, ornaments, bags, belts, etc., are also prohibited inside the exam centre. 

Ques. Can I apply for both BSc Nursing and BSc Paramedical courses at the same time through a single AIIMS Paramedical 2025 application form?

Ans. As per the official information by AIIMS, it is not possible to apply for both BSc Nursing and BSc Paramedical course at the same time through a single AIIMS Paramedical application form. To do so, candidates must submit separate application forms for each course. Candidates should make sure that the exam dates for both of these courses do not clash, and carefully read the eligibility criteria and other requirements before applying for any of the courses. They can check the official website of AIIMS for more information on the application process and eligibility criteria for BSc Nursing and BSc Paramedical courses.

Ques. Will there be any negative marking in the AIIMS Paramedical Exam 2025?

Ans. Yes, 1/3rd marks will be deducted from the total score for every wrong answer. This means 1 mark will be deducted for every 3 wrong answers.

AIIMS has revised the AIIMS Paramedical Application Dates. The last date for AIIMS Paramedical 2024 basic registration is April 26, and the code for the AIIMS Paramedical Exam can be generated till April 30, 2024. The status for UG courses will be released on May 08 and May 09 for PG courses. You can submit the official documents till May 13 and 14 for UG and PG courses, respectively.

The AIIMS paramedical entrance exam is considered moderately difficult as a lot of students compete for approximately 171 paramedical seats and 571 nursing seats. To perform well, you must have a strong understanding of Physics, Chemistry, and one of Biology or Mathematics, depending upon your subject preference. The exam will be an MCQ-based exam and must be completed within 90 minutes so the candidates must try to attempt the paper fast enough. Since, the exam is conducted once a year, it also adds on to the pressure faced by many aspirants to perform well and secure a seat in the AIIMS Paramedical exam. Due to the high level of competition, the exam is moderately difficult and the cut off is also usually between 4361 - 8221 depending upon your category.

For all candidates appearing for the AIIMS Paramedical Entrance Exam to seek admission to the paramedical and nursing courses at AIIMS, must keep in mind the guidelines mentioned below. These are the general guidelines that will help you on the exam day. Please carefully check your admit card as well for any other instructions. 

You must report to the exam center by 8.45 AM or at least 30 minutes in advance to avoid any last minute delays. 
No candidate is allowed to enter the exam center after 9.45 AM and leave before 11.30 AM
You have to carry your admit card, a valid photo ID proof, and one passport-sized photograph on the exam day.
You cannot carry any textual material such as books, notes, etc, or any electronic device such as a mobile phone, Bluetooth, and calculator to the exam centre as they will be marked under unfair means. Wristwatches, ornaments, bags, belts, etc. are also not allowed inside the exam center.

The AIIMS Paramedical exam dates are different for the UG and PG paramedical courses. BSc. Hons Nursing exam will be held on June 08,  whereas the BSc Nursing Post Basic entrance exam will be conducted on June 22. The AIIMS Paramedical MSc Nursing exam is also scheduled on June 22 whereas for the UG paramedical courses like BSc MLT, BSc, etc, the exam date is July 6, 2024.

Yes, there will be a negative marking in the AIIMS paramedical exam 2024. For each incorrect answer, 1/3 marks will be deducted. +1 mark is given for a correct response.

You need to submit your self-attested photograph and signature to fill out the AIIMS Paramedical Application Form. Along with that, you must also upload your passing certificates, previous marksheets, age proof, and a category certificate (if applicable) while registering for the AIIMS Paramedical entrance exam. You must submit the correct and valid documents to avoid getting your registration cancelled.

To apply for the AIIMS Paramedical entrance exam, you must have passed your 10+ 2 with at least 50 to 55% marks from a recognised Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects. You must also be at least 17 years old as on December 31, 2024, to be eligible for the AIIMS Paramedical Exam 2024.
