M.Phil. Physical Education or Master of Philosophy in Physical Education is a postgraduate research course in physical education. Also called a mirror equivalent of Ph.D., M.Phil. is different in a few aspects. M.Phil. is also offered in an integrated form with Ph.D. The course duration is generally 2 years but can go up to 6 years if distance education is pursued. When the M.Phil-Ph.D. integrated course is pursued, the M.Phil. duration is supposed to be 1 year
To be eligible to pursue this course, the students should have a masters degree in physical education.
The admissions to M.Phil. Physical education are generally through entrance tests which are conducted by colleges individually and include questions on the basics of physical education which the students should be already aware of. Some institutes might even take a personal interview round.

M.Phil. Physical Education: What is it about?
This course is about the study of sports and physical education. A candidate has to be a Master of Physical Education graduate from a recognized university in order to be eligible for this course. It is a one year program that has most of the syllabus dedicated to personal research of the student.

The only eligibility for pursuing this course is that the student must have obtained a masters degree in physical education. The degree should have been obtained from a good institute and the student should also have obtained the minimum marks required. Generally, the institutes keep the minimum marks criterion at 50% but it varies from 45%-55%.
Those who qualify these criteria are required to go through the entrance tests which are conducted by various universities.
