ACCA Eligibility: After Graduation, after BCom, after 12th, for Indian Students, Qualification

Students are eligible for ACCA from class 10. Students who have just cleared class 10 are eligible for Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) route for ACCA. Students who have passed class 12 are eligible to sit for the 13 designated papers of ACCA. 

ACCA is a very flexible certification that is eligible for candidates at various levels of their education. Students must get 65% in Mathematics / Accounts and English, and a minimum of 50% in other subjects to be eligible for ACCA course. 

ACCA Course Levels

ACCA subjects are divided into three levels: Knowledge, Skills, and Vocational. Knowledge level exams are on-demand exams that can be taken 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Skill and professional-level exams are held in March, June, September, and December of each year.

The ACCA level of knowledge is the first level of the ACCA qualification and consists of three modules: Business Accountant, Management Accounting and Financial Accounting.

ACCA skill levels cover key technical topics that require advanced understanding. These subjects develop knowledge and skills in legal, tax, audit and financial management, financial reporting and performance management. The ACCA Strategic Professional level is the final step toward ACCA membership. ACCA Foundations in Accountancy Eligibility

FIA begins at GCSE level (Level 2), or equivalent, and progresses up to the equivalent of the first year of a bachelor's degree (Level 4).

The FIA qualifications include:

  • ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2)
  • RQF Level 3
  • ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4)
  • Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)
  • The Foundation Diploma.

ACCA Knowledge Level Eligibility

Candidates need to have completed either the AAT Professional Diploma or ACCA Foundation to study Applied Knowledge. If a candidate has any degree-level or equivalent qualifications, might be eligible for exemptions across ACCA examinations at this or other levels.

ACCA Skill Level Eligibility

Students who are commerce graduates or have completed the ACCA Knowledge level can appear in the ACCA Skill Level.

ACCA Professional Level Eligibility

This is the last level of the ACCA examinations. Candidates after clearing the knowledge and the skill level can appear in the ACCA Professional Level.

ACCA Eligibility after CA

Those who have cleared the Final CA exam could be eligible for exemptions from 9 papers out of the 13. After claiming these exemptions, they should be able to clear the remaining ACCA exams in around 6 to 8 months. 

ACCA Eligibility after BCom

Once students have completed their graduation degree, then they may be eligible for up to 4 exemptions from 13 ACCA papers. Upon completion of B.Com, they will be entitled to up to four waivers. After completing BBA, they may be eligible for three exemptions. 

ACCA Eligibility after 12th

According to ACCA's eligibility criteria, students must be at least 18 years old and have completed 10+2 with a total score of 65% in Math/Accounting and English and a total score of at least 50% in all other subjects.

ACCA Eligibility in Malaysia

  • 2 principal passes at STPM, plus 3 credits at SPM (grade C or above in 5 separate subjects, including English/Bahasa Inggeris and Mathematics/Principles of Accounting/ Prinsip Perakaunan)
  • Matriculation Certificate 
  • A minimum CGPA of 2.50.
  • ATAR of at least 70 + 5 credits (grade C or above) SPM

What is The ACCA Qualification?

If students have two A Levels and three GCSEs in five separate subjects including English and maths or equivalent qualifications, they can start their studies at the ACCA Qualification, which is ranked at Masters level and on completion they will be considered ACCA members.

To achieve the ACCA Qualification, students must have:

  • Complete up to 13 exams
  • Complete the Ethics and Professional Skills module.
  • 3 years of work experience.
