This MSc is designed for students who wish to supplement their education in a specific set of advanced topics and cutting-edge technologies that they require for their professional lives, or to pursue their studies further to a PhD on a specific topic. It offers a broad menu of modules from which you can construct your own pathway with the advice and assistance of a member of staff.

You will experience the analysis, design and development of computing systems solutions relevant to the computing industry. You will develop your ability to research and critically assess material and techniques relevant to a particular problem or project. Equally important, you will improve your knowledge of computer technology, architecture and digital communications to develop computer-based systems in industrial and business environments.

2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject with a substantial element of Computing. Relevant work experience may also be considered.

The MSc in Management combines a comprehensive grounding in the functions of management with a critical analysis of the context in which managers work. You will develop a critical understanding of the economic, social and political environments which affect organisational life.

The course features a combination of core and option modules which allow you to focus on specialist areas including corporate governance, international human resources management, managing information, operations management and knowledge management.

This degree will equip you with the skills to critically evaluate the published literature on management and organisations and to synthesise the range of issues and perspectives which inform research and practice in the field. It will also develop your practical transferable skills including the ability to conduct independent research. You will have the opportunity to develop the expertise and knowledge to manage competently, capably and ethically.

MSc Management courses will help you shape your leadership and management skills to become an effective manager, able to operate in dynamic and complex organisational environments. You will gain an excellent understanding of the core subjects, enabling you to put to theory and contemporary thinking into practice.

The pure management route develops a deeper understanding of the central principles of management. You will engage with relevant and emerging management concerns, including managing across cultures. You will also explore organisational innovation and entrepreneurial thinking, as well as refining your critical understanding of management theory.

In your third semester, you’ll choose an experiential project. With the opportunity to use your skills in a real-world setting, you can choose from completing a consultancy experience project, an in-company experience project or a business research project.

A good UK honours degree or its equivalent, or a postgraduate diploma from a recognised institution, or a relevant graduate level professional qualification.

You will need an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate honours degree (2.2 or above) containing some evidence of quantitative ability
