Humber’s Biotechnology diploma program prepares students with the transferable skills needed to build successful careers in a variety of biotechnology and research sectors. College has seven campuses: Barrie, Orillia, Owen Sound, Midland, Muskoka, South Georgian Bay and Orangeville. Barrie is the main campus.

Library

Four of the seven campuses have library services. Library empowers the students with resources and provides them a learning opportunity. Library provides resources like databases, journals etc. 


Humber Libraries has access to over 11,000 streaming videos through the library website, and over 12,000 audio recordings and DVDs at the North and Lakeshore campus libraries. Apart from this the library provides access to multiple resources like journals, publication etc. 


Campus Life

Georgian offers a variety of housing options to students – from on-campus residences (Barrie, Orillia and Owen Sound campuses) to off-campus apartment buildings, room and board, and houses to rent or share. Georgian offers a number of different food options. Barrie, Orillia and Owen Sound campuses offer multiple restaurants and meal plans. Many food vendors also accept the Georgian ONEcard. All seven campuses are in cities offering bus service to Toronto. All of those cities offer local public transit. Students have access to various services like health services, counselling services, advisory services etc. 


Located along the shores of Lake Ontario, at Kipling and Lake Shore Blvd. W, Humber's Lakeshore Campus located in New Toronto has approximately 7,200 full-time students, with 400 living in residence. The Lakeshore Campus sits on the large grounds of the former Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital and Lakeshore Teachers College, in the west-end New Toronto neighborhood of Toronto (formerly Etobicoke). When leased by Humber College, the college vowed to keep the historical site in good condition and enhance its park-like setting as an asset to the Southern Etobicoke community. The campus now consists of a number of cottage buildings and the more modern and now renovated Lakeshore Teachers College facilities that were extensively re-worked in the early 1980s.

City Life

Barrie, Ontario is a beautiful waterfront city located on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay, the western side of Lake Simcoe. It is a growing area that has become a popular destination for new immigrants. There is large employment growth and it has a good transit system. The city is also ideal for people who love the outdoors because of the swimmable beaches and ski hills located nearby. There are many great hiking paths, great skiing, and many watersports. 


Located behind Humber College's North Campus, the Humber Arboretum consists of botanical gardens and natural areas surrounding the Humber River.This unique site is home to the Carolinian bioregion, the most diverse ecosystem in Canada, and boasts over 1,700 species of plants and animals.
