NIET M.Pharm FAQs
Ques. Is GPAT mandatory for M.Pharm admission at NIET Pharmacy Institute, Greater Noida?
Ans. GPAT is not strictly mandatory for admission to M.Pharm at NIET, but it is strongly preferred. Candidates with a valid GPAT score are given priority during UPTAC counselling and are also eligible for the monthly stipend of Rs. 12,400 as per PCI/AICTE norms. Students without a GPAT score can still apply for direct admission through NIET's own admission process, which involves a written aptitude test and personal interview. However, securing a GPAT score significantly improves your chances of getting a seat and also provides financial support throughout the 2-year programme.
Ques. What is the total fee for M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics) at NIET, and are there any hidden charges?
Ans. The total fee for the 2-year M.Pharm programme at NIET is Rs. 2,29,950 as per the 2025-26 fee structure. Year 1 fee is Rs. 1,22,400 (which includes a one-time security deposit of Rs. 5,000 and student welfare fee of Rs. 5,000), and Year 2 fee is Rs. 1,07,550. There are no hidden charges within the institute fee structure, but students should note that external university exam fees and pre-registration fees are to be paid separately on the AKTU portal. Hostel fees, if opted, are additional and range from approximately Rs. 97,690 to Rs. 1,59,570 per year depending on room type.
Ques. How is the placement scenario for M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics) students at NIET Pharmacy Institute?
Ans. NIET Pharmacy Institute has a dedicated placement cell and has placed M.Pharm students in companies such as Wipro Limited, Yatharth Hospital, and other pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations. The average salary for M.Pharm graduates from NIET is approximately Rs. 4,42,500 per annum as per available placement data. The institute also facilitates internships and industry interface programmes with leading pharma companies. However, placement numbers for M.Pharm are relatively smaller compared to B.Pharm due to the smaller batch size of 15 seats per specialisation. Many M.Pharm graduates also pursue PhD programmes or government jobs (drug inspector, etc.) after completing the course.
Ques. What is the difference between UPTAC counselling and direct admission at NIET for M.Pharm?
Ans. UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) is the state-level centralised counselling conducted by AKTU for M.Pharm admissions in UP. Seats are allotted based on GPAT merit, and students admitted through UPTAC may be eligible for fee-waiver seats (where tuition fee is waived). Direct admission at NIET is available for seats that remain vacant after UPTAC counselling rounds. In direct admission, NIET conducts its own written test and personal interview. Both routes lead to the same degree from AKTU, but UPTAC-admitted students with GPAT scores get the monthly stipend benefit, which is not available for direct admissions without a GPAT score.
Ques. Can students from outside Uttar Pradesh apply for M.Pharm at NIET, and are they eligible for scholarships?
Ans. Yes, students from any state in India can apply for M.Pharm at NIET Greater Noida. The UPTAC counselling is open to all Indian nationals with a valid GPAT score. However, the UP Government Post-Matric Scholarship is available only to students who are domicile residents of Uttar Pradesh. Students from other states can avail central government scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) if they belong to SC/ST/OBC/Minority/EWS categories and meet the income criteria. The GPAT stipend of Rs. 12,400 per month is available to all GPAT-qualified students regardless of their home state.
Ques. What career options are available after completing M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics from NIET?
Ans. M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics from NIET opens up a wide range of career opportunities. Graduates can work as formulation scientists, regulatory affairs executives, quality assurance/quality control officers, or production managers in pharmaceutical companies. Government sector opportunities include Drug Inspector (through state PSC exams), scientist positions in CSIR/ICMR labs, and faculty positions in pharmacy colleges.
