NIET D.Pharma FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between D.Pharma and B.Pharma, and which should I choose at NIET?
Ans. D.Pharma is a 2-year diploma programme that qualifies you to work as a registered pharmacist in retail/hospital pharmacy settings. B.Pharma is a 4-year degree programme that opens up broader career options including pharmaceutical industry, research, and higher studies (M.Pharm). At NIET, D.Pharma costs Rs. 1,47,600 total (2 years) while B.Pharma costs significantly more. If you want to start working quickly or have budget constraints, D.Pharma is a good entry point. Importantly, D.Pharma graduates can take lateral entry into B.Pharma 2nd year at AKTU-affiliated colleges, so it is not a dead end and can serve as a stepping stone to a full degree.
Ques. What is JEECUP and how does it work for D.Pharma admission at NIET?
Ans. JEECUP (Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh) is the state-level entrance exam for polytechnic and diploma admissions in UP. For D.Pharma, candidates appear in Group E2 of JEECUP.
