Chittaranjan College runs BA General/ BA Honors course in two subjects English and Bengali. B.Com General and B.Com Honors in Accounting and Finance. BA Honors has the intake of 50 seats in both specializations individually, BA General has the capacity of 100 seats, while B.Com Honors and General both courses has total 150 seats each.

• Application form is made available offline at the college office.
• Applicants shall collect application form from the college’s campus and submit it along with the necessary documents on or before the stipulated date. Candidates must download the bank challan form the college’s website and submit the application fee at the respective branch.
• Applicants who have passed 10+2 in any discipline are eligible to apply for admission to BA General program, whereas for BA Honors candidates shall have passed 10+2 with minimum 45% marks in aggregate and have scored 55% marks in English and 60% marks in Bengali to become eligible for admission to any of the two disciplines of BA Honors.
• For B.Com program those who have passed 10+2 and have scored pass marks in Accountancy and Mathematics are considered eligible.
• Candidates with a minimum score of 55% in aggregate in 10+2 and 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates) in Accountancy/ Mathematics are eligible for B.Com Honors program.
• There are 11 seats for SC, 3 seats for ST, 2 for OBC, 1-1 for PH and Sportsperson and 33 seats for General category is reserved in A Honors (English and Bengali) program.
• In BA General Course 22 seats are reserved for SC, 6 for ST, 3 for OBC, 2-2 for PH & Sports person, and 65 seats for General category students.
• For B.Com (General and Honors) program 97 seats are reserved for General candidates, 33 for SC, 9 for ST, 5 for OBC, and 3-3 for PH & sports person respectively.

Chittaranjan College Admission Highlights 2024

Applicants who have completed 10+2/ HSC or its equivalent qualifying examination in any discipline from a recognized Board and are passed in English subject are considered eligible for admission to BA (General) course. Whereas, for BA (Hons.) English course a candidate must have qualified 10+2 with minimum 45% marks in aggregate and have scored at least 55% marks (50% for reserved category) in English is declared eligible. Similarly, for BA (Hons.) Bengali program those who have completed HSC with 45% marks in aggregate along with 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates) in Bengali are eligible for admission.

Admission of the eligible candidate in either course is done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination.

Chittaranjan College offers BA (General) and BA (Hons.) in English and Bengali to the aspirants. These courses are of 3 years duration.

Eligibility Table

• Marks obtained in the compulsory subject like Environmental Studies/ Environmental Science/ Environmental Education is not taken into account while calculating aggregate marks of 10+2.
• Marks of best 4 subjects of 10+2 level is considered while calculating the aggregate marks.
• Applicants shall choose any two pass/ general subjects out of Hindi/ History/ Education/ Political Science/ Philosophy to apply while applying for BA Honors.
• Candidate applying for BA General Course must select any three pass/ general subjects out of Hindi/ History/ Education/ Political Science/ Philosophy.

Chittaranjan College has B.Com General and Honors courses in its academic curriculum and each course is of 3 years duration.

The minimum eligibility requirement of B.Com General Course is 10+2 with pass marks in Mathematics/ Accountancy and English subjects, while for B.Com Honors course in Accounting and Finance candidates must have passed 10+2 with minimum 55% marks in aggregate along with 60% marks (for reserved category candidates it is 55%) in Accountancy and Mathematics.

Selection of the candidates for admission to both B.Com (General) and B.Com (Honors) is done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination.

• It is mandatory for the applicants to choose English as one compulsory subject and any one out of Hindi, Urdu, and Bengali as another compulsory subject while applying for admission to B.Com (General & Honors.).
• The college releases the merit list after the evaluation of all the received application on its website and shortlisted candidates shall complete all the admission formalities.
