Overall Experience with IHMCT GOA

Likes

The college was located at the accessible location in Goa with a peaceful atmosphere close to hospitality industry hubs
The course was well-structured with a strong focus on practical learning, covering all parts of hotel management and catering technology to prepare students
Institute has a strong industry connection, offering students internships and placement in top hotels , resorts and hospitality chains both in India and international.

Dislikes

The fees have been raising over the years and additional cost for exams, materials and other charges can be a financial burden
Hostel accommodation may not always be sufficient or up to expected standards, making it challenging for outstation students.
while discipline is necessary, some student may find the rules too rigid.

Admission:

I chose the college for its reputation, practical training and placement opportunities over others I appled to. The admission process was starightforward, based on JEE exams, with competitve cutoff. And as I was from Mumbai, the cutoff for IHM Mumbai was way much than my rank which I received in JEE exams. Initially got IHM Kozhikode but later changed it to IHM Goa as it would be ease to travel back home anytime.

Cleanliness , amazing staff , greenery , amazing display of restaurants
The library is an amazing place to go and study for the exams
The old wing cafeteria is like a meeting spot

Dislikes

Limited stocks of ingredients hence not proper leaning and practical
Sometimes teachers only focus on the given recipe rather than properly teaching us practically
Since the building is very old , the structure also is very old

Admission:

I wanted to try a new city where i have never been to but i also wanted a college with good ratings and reviews hence i chose this college. Not only good rating and reviews but this college is so beautiful and feels like home

Sometimes the college focuses on extra curricular activities rather than studies
The focus on events is more than focus on classes
Subjects like food and beverages Do not have more than one teacher

Admission:

I choose this college because the location is very nice because in cities like Goa, the tourism is very high, which helps the student to learn about the tourism industry. Even more. They get exposure to all kinds of things and also my rank was 953. So I could not have gotten an admission in the Delhi University. That's why I chose this. It is calm and peaceful here with no rush.

Likes

Things that I liked is the campus and supporting faculty
The events organised by our college and giving chance to all the students to participate as per their wish

Admission:

I choose ihm goa because that it is a tourist place . So more tourist the more exposure we get to the hotel industry as our course is for the same . And speaking of ihm goa i personally thought that it would be a better opportunity to come and study in this institution for better future

Staffs are really good and punctual also encouraging students to participate in compatitions

I didn't choose any other colleges and the admission process is very simple we can apply for the addmission in their website ihmgoa.com eligibility is must need to be 10th graduated and need to know English for the diploma and craft course

I like the faculty cause they are cooperative

Life at IHM Goa

Likes

Ihm goa has a huge and lush green campus it provide state of the art infrastructure and equipments
Collage has very nice and helpfull staff they cooperate with the students very nicely
Collage is located in the prime area of goa which is alto porvorim

Dislikes

The locality where the collage is a bit expensive
Lunch provided in the collage is not much good
Collage hostels need improvement as ther are not good

Admission:

To take admission in this collage students need to give nchm jee exam in which the maximum cutoff for general student is 3400 AIR nchm is conducted once a year by which one can take admission in any collage to pursue hotel management as a career

Grooming standards were maintained, and there is discipline

Dislikes

Some teachers may taunt you all the time and you have to be patient

Admission:

You have to be a 12th standard pass with 60%. Generally, you have to apply by taking the NCHMCT JEE exam, and if you crack it, you will be offered 3 IHM institutions of India to select and then they proceed. But I applied to IHM Goa when the provisional admission category was opened, they asked for my 12th certificate, migration certificate, 10th certificate, migration certificate, address proof and birth certificate.

The faculty and the management staff are well educated.
Hygiene and Cleanliness of the College in and out.
College campus is really good and organised.

The students who come here to study, and more into alcohol.

Admission:

For placement in any of the IHM all over India you need to clear NCHMCT which is an entrance conducted in the month of June. For top IHM you need to be in top 4000 AIR. As IHMs are well renowned all over the world the exam is pretty tough.

Admission:

The eligibility criteria is the NcHMCT JEE exam You may find the form or application to the form on NCHMCT site There are reservations too in admission process. The exam is quite easy as the same structure of Maths, English, LR, GK and Aptitude is there in the paper
