Cosmopolitan Technology of Maritime (CTM) is a private maritime training (merchant navy) institute running under Charitable Educational Trust. It was established in 2003 and is located in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu.

Cosmopolitan Technology of Maritime offers a Diploma program in Nautical Science, a Certificate program in Maritime Catering and a General Purpose Rating program to eligible candidates seeking career as seafarers. It also offers STCW courses in Personal Survival Technique, Personal Safety and Social Responsibility, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid, Passenger Ship Familiarization, and Oil Tankers Familiarization with the program duration ranging from 2 to 5 days.

All applicants must possess good health and must produce/ submit Medical Fitness Certificate as per MS 2000 norms.
The basic eligibility criteria for admission to Diploma and Certificate courses is a pass in 10+2 from a recognized board.
For the General Purpose Rating program, candidates must pass 10th standard with at least 40% marks.
Diploma applicants must have studied scored 60% marks in 10+2 with PCM subjects to be eligible.
Admission to all courses is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

Cosmopolitan Technology of Maritime Diploma, General Purpose Program & Certificate Courses Admission 2023

Cosmopolitan Technology of Maritime offers a 1-year Diploma course in Nautical Science along with two other 6-months-long programs viz. General Purpose Rating (Deck & Engine) and Certificate in Maritime Catering.

The minimum eligibility for admission to Diploma and Certificate courses is a pass in 10+2 from a recognized board. Diploma candidates must fulfil the additional requirement of completing their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 60% marks in the qualifying exam. For the General Purpose Rating program must pass the 10th standard with at least 40% marks.

Admission to the Selection of candidates for all the three courses is done on the basis of qualifying exam marks.

Key Points:

B.Sc. (P/C/M) degree holders with minimum 55% marks and AICTE approved B.E. / B. Tech degree holders are eligible to pursue Diploma in Nautical Science course.
Candidates applying for General Purpose Rating program are required to have studied Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects at the 10+2 level. Also, securing a minimum of 40% marks in English language is required for admission to the course.
Candidates with a 2-year ITI certification from a Government approved institute with a minimum of 50 percentile marks in the final year exam are eligible for admission to the General Purpose Rating program.
Diploma (min. 2 years) or Degree holders in Hotel Management & Catering from a recognized University with 50% aggregate marks are also eligible to apply for the Certificate program.

Cosmopolitan Technology of Maritime accepts applications from eligible candidates through offline mode. The admission notification is published in all leading newspapers along with an application format.

Candidates may also directly approach the institute for information such as Course Commencement date, Application Form Issuance date etc. The process for applying is given below:

Check admission notification published by the college on leading dailies across the country.
Fill the application form and fill it correctly.
Attach copies of Educational Qualification Certificate, Final Examination Mark-sheets, School (or) College Leaving Certificate/ Transfer Certificate, and Passport (if available).
Send the enclosures along with a Demand Draft of INR 75000 in favor of "Cosmopolitan Technology of Maritime", payable at Chennai.

Note: All original certificates must be submitted to the college at the time of admission and will be returned only after completion of the course.

I applied in Diploma in nautical sciences after completing my class 10th through filling up of application form and cleared my entrance exam held by the institute itself along with that I was also asked to undergo a color blindness test.
