Ques. What is the total fee for the IGRUA CPL programme?
Ans. The total programme fee for the Ab-initio to Commercial Pilot Licence course at IGRUA is INR 45,00,000 for the 24-month programme. The non-refundable application fee is INR 10,000 for General and OBC candidates, while SC/ST candidates are exempt. Optional hostel accommodation is available at up to INR 1,80,000 per year, separate from the programme fee.
Ques. How many flying hours are included in IGRUA CPL training?
Ans. The IGRUA CPL programme includes 200+ flying hours. Of these, 185 hours are flown on single-engine aircraft and the final 15 hours are on a multi-engine aircraft, earning candidates a Multi-Engine Endorsement and Instrument Rating. After completing 200 hours, cadets also undergo Multi Crew Coordination training on a Diamond DA-42 simulator before applying to DGCA for their Commercial Pilot Licence.
Ques. What is the selection process for IGRUA CPL 2026?
Ans. IGRUA CPL selection involves three stages. Candidates first appear for the computer-based entrance exam covering Physics, Mathematics, English, and general aptitude. Shortlisted candidates then attend the Pilot Aptitude Test at Fursatganj Airfield, Rae Bareli. Finally, selected candidates must clear a DGCA Class 1 Medical examination. The final merit list combines all three stages and determines batch allotment.
Ques. Can I pursue a degree alongside IGRUA CPL training?
Ans. Yes, IGRUA cadets have the option to pursue a B.Sc in Aviation from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University (RMLAU), Faizabad, alongside their flying training. This dual-track allows candidates to earn both a professional pilot licence and a recognised university degree. The B.Sc Aviation programme runs concurrently with the CPL training schedule at IGRUA.
Ques. What is the age limit and eligibility for IGRUA CPL 2026?
Ans. Candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of joining. The upper age limit is 28 years for General category, 31 for OBC, and 33 for SC/ST candidates. Candidates must be unmarried and must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, securing a minimum of 50% in each subject and 45% for reserved categories as per the official advertisement.
