You must have passed the relevant qualifying exam: to enter the regular Diploma programme, a 10th pass is required; for lateral-entry into the Diploma/Polytechnic (which allows entry into 2nd year), you will need a 10+2 or ITI pass. The admissions are merit-based (no separate entrance exam required in most cases). First-year fee is listed around INR 35,050 for the lateral polytechnic intake as per recent data at GIT Noida.
