Truth of medical colleges

Likes

Very affordable for a middle class student. It's 10% of what people pay for private colleges. There will be no extra fees for any labs, instruments or any other things . Which saves you lot of money .
Hostels are also highly affordable.its located in the heart of the city. Yet asks you to pay only 500/- per month . Which is very cheap . Amenities are also okayish

Dislikes

As it is a government hospital it is not so hygienic. No proper sanitation and cleaning.
The classrooms doesn't have projectors only few of them work which cause problems to students. Lecture halls are also not good.
Staff are too strict. They always try to detain you and scold you for every little thing

Course Curriculum Overview:

You'll only have annual exam that makes it easy for you to study . We don't have keep writing semesters throughout the year. Course includes clinical postings in the morning session and theory classes in the afternoon session which helps you correlate theory with practical knowledge. There is a need to improve teaching methods they can be more engaging, can include more practical knowledge

The college is a government college run by the government of Telangana state. This campus is a college and a dental hospital together which provides good patient exposure to all the students for a better clinical study for becoming good dentists and
The campus is vast and accomodates all the 9 branches of dentistry with separate undergraduate and postgraduate labs and classrooms. The campus is also provided with a huge library equipped with large number of dental books written by many author's.
The faculty are highly qualified dental doctors all over the country amongst all the post graduate branches. All the HODs, associate professors, assitant professors, senior residents are all MDS doctors graduated from all the parts of the country.

Dislikes

As this campus is a common building for both hospital, the campus is a little untidy and unhygienic sometimes. The basic amenities are not very well maintained such as drinking water and the toilets.
The college is provided with free materials and all the dental equipments from the state government, but they are poorly managed and maintained. Any equipment damaged or to be repaired is left out and not taken any action.
The college doesn't offer much social events or gatherings. If you are personally interested in sports or any other extracurricular activities and looking forward for any opportunities, this may not be a right place for you.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Dentistry as a subject in itself is a very vast subject. The different branches in dentistry are Oral Pathology, Prosthodontics, Conservative dentistry, Pedodontics, Periodontics, Public health dentistry, Orthodontics, Oral maxillofacial surgery, Oral radiology. Dentistry is a very artistic subjects which gives you the power to rebuilt the lost smile of a patient. The preclinical subjects give you the insight of how to treat the patients and during the clinicals you get to see and experience vast variety of cases and problems of the tooth. The final professional exams take place at the end of every academic year whereas we do have termly internal exams once in every 3 months to test the progress of every student in the theory as well as the practicals.
