17 Dec, 2025 AIST 2026 online applications will open on Dec 20, 2025, for all UG/PG admissions at FDDI Chennai. Further, the application deadline is April 20, and the exam is scheduled for May 10, 2026.

12 Nov, 2025 UCEED 2026 Exam will be held on January 18, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 PM, for B.Des admission. Further, the Results will be announced on March 6, 2026. To know more, check here.

Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), Kanchipuram provides UG and PG programs in Footwear, fashion, Retail, and Leather Good/Accessories discipline. Under the UG domain, it offers B.Des. Under PG Domain, it offers M.Des. programs in various specializations.  Admission to B.Des course is done through a valid score in UCEED/AIST. Candidates who have UCEED scores are exempted from AIST. For admission in M.Des valid score in All India Selection Test (AIST) is required. Eligibility

A candidate who has qualified in any one of the following is eligible for this Bachelor program:

  1. Intermediate, in any stream, from any recognized Board.
  2. Any School/ Board / University examination in India or in a foreign country is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as similar to the 10+2 system.
  3. Any School Examination having a minimum of five subjects conducted by the National Open School. 
  4. 3-Years full-time Diploma approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) after Class X offered by the Board of Technical Education of any state or Union territory. 
  5. The Age limit for this course shall be 25 years as on the 1st July 2024.

Selection Criteria

  • Candidates are going to be selected on the basis of the UCEED/All India Selection Test (AIST) exam followed by Counselling.
  • After counselling, Candidates who got allotted a seat will be required to pay an amount of INR 25,000 at the time of counselling/ admission to reserve their seat. This amount includes registration Fee of INR 10,000 (Non-Refundable) + INR 15,000 as Advance Fee to be adjusted against the balance fee. The Counselling Charges shall not be refunded in case of withdrawal of admission in any circumstances.

It offers a Full-Time Master in Designing (M.Des.) course in only one specialization as shown below.

Eligibility

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Footwear/Leather Goods/Design/ Fashion/Fine arts/ Architecture/ Engineering/ Production / Technology to apply for this course. There is no Age limit regulation for Master’s Degree programmes (M.Des.).

Selection Criteria

Candidates opting for PG admission too will be selected on the basis of the All India Selection Test (AIST) exam followed by Counselling same as the UG Program.

Note: A Paper-Based Test (PBT) towards the admission to all UG and PG Programmes will be conducted at 31 cities. The candidate may select any one city of his/her choice for the examination.

Step 2: They can access this website also through the Admission Tab on the homepage of the official website of the institution (https://www.fddiindia.com).

Step 3: New Candidate to visit the website: https://fddiadmissions.qualcampus.com/ and click: Fresh Candidate to create a login (New Log In)

Step 4: Fill all required details to register for any programme. A valid email ID is needed for applying online.

Step 5: Kindly note your Email-ID and DOB as filled by you, since it will be used for logging to the website to fill the online application form.

Step 6: Press the button “Submit”. Once the information is filled here, you can’t change.

Step 7: Once the registration is completed, a confirmation mail will also be sent on your registered email ID.

FAQs

Ques. What is the age limit to apply for UG admission at FDDI Kanchipuram?

Ans. The age limit to apply for admission in UG program is 25 years and there is no age limit to apply for admission in the PG program.

Ques. Is there a cut off score for AIST for FDDI Kanchipuram?

Ans. No, Selection will be done on the basis of the merit list of all candidates appeared. Thereafter the counselling is done on rank basis.

Ques. What is the syllabus for the AIST at FDDI Kanchipuram?

Ans.  The syllabus for AIST includes Quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, General Awareness, and Business Aptitude Test questions. A Total of 150 questions will be asked for 200 marks for the bachelor degree and there will be 175 questions for master degree. Check here.

Why I Chose FDDI Chennai I chose FDDI Chennai because it offers a specialized curriculum in Fashion Design / Footwear Design / Leather Goods, with strong industry linkages, good infrastructure, and a practical-oriented approach. Its backing by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry gives it credibility, and the placement support is also a strong factor. Why I Couldn't Make It to Other Colleges NIFT – Very high competition. I appeared for the entrance but my rank wasn’t sufficient for the center/course I wanted. Other Private Colleges – I was selected, but the fee was too high and ROI didn’t justify the cost. FDDI Admission Process 1.Entrance Exam (AIST) FDDI All India Selection Test (AIST) is a written exam covering GK, aptitude, design awareness, and English. 2. Application Form Apply online through the FDDI website. Choice of campus and program is selected during this step. 3. Result & Counseling Based on AIST score and seat availability, students are called for counseling and seat allotment.

Admission:

I got in all the college i applied to. The advantage i had in this college is that it was in the same city i live in and the biggest factor is that this is a nation college under INI. So the degree has very high brand value when out in the world. Other colleges had their advantages but they were all private.

Admission:

Admission for this college is only based on online application form. Here the main eligibility is communication skills. I have applied for this college trough online and the charges for the application were around Rs 500/- and we have to submit with proper documents. Then i have called for admission entrance exam. Then i got admission in this college.
