IIIT Raichur offers Ph.D research programs in Computer & Science Engineering, and the Mathematics department. For the application, students need to pay INR 1,000 for general/OBC candidates and INR 500 for SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates. A total of 7.0 CGPA must be secured by the general/ OBC (Creamy-layer) candidates.
For OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates, 6.5 CGPA is required.
For SC & ST candidates, a 6.0 CGPA is required.
For the Mathematics department, candidates need to have an MA/M.Sc degree in mathematics with 6.5 CGPA for general category and OBC (Creamy layer) candidates.
Relaxation provided for SC, ST, and OBC (Non-Creamy layer).

Selection is primarily based on a written exam followed by multiple personal interview rounds.
Finally, selected candidates are informed through the website within two weeks of the interview.
