Sai MHA FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between MHA and MBA (Hospital Management) and which is better for a career in hospital administration?
Ans. MHA (Master in Hospital Administration) is a specialised postgraduate degree focused exclusively on healthcare management, covering subjects like hospital planning, medical terminology, healthcare economics, and hospital operations. An MBA with a hospital management specialisation is a general management degree with some healthcare-specific electives. MHA is generally considered more relevant and preferred by hospitals and healthcare organisations for senior administrative roles, as it provides deeper domain knowledge. Graduates from Sai Group of Institutions' MHA programme have been placed in hospitals like Fortis DMC Ludhiana, Max Healthcare, and Kailash Hospital, confirming the programme's industry acceptance.
Ques. What are the career options and salary expectations after MHA from Sai Group of Institutions?
Ans. After completing MHA, graduates can work as Hospital Administrators, Medical Superintendents, Deputy Medical Superintendents, Administration Executives, Chief Operating Officers, Floor Managers, Centre Managers, and Clinical Nurse Managers. Beyond hospitals, MHA graduates are also recruited by health insurance companies, third-party administrator (TPA) organisations, IT firms working on hospital information systems, and government health departments at the district and state level. The average starting salary for MHA graduates is approximately Rs. 5 LPA, with significant growth potential as experience and seniority increase.
Ques. Is the MHA degree from Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University recognised for government hospital jobs?
Ans. Yes, the MHA programme at Sai Group of Institutions is affiliated to Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University (SDSUV), a state university established by the Government of Uttarakhand and recognised by UGC. The degree is valid and recognised for employment in both private and government healthcare institutions. Several state governments and corporate hospital bodies prefer to appoint MHA graduates for running hospitals even at the district level. For central government health service positions, the degree fulfils the educational qualification requirement.
Ques. Can a student with a BHA background from Sai Group of Institutions directly pursue MHA at the same institution?
Ans. Yes, students who have completed BHA (Bachelor in Hospital Administration) from Sai Group of Institutions or any other recognised institution are eligible to apply for the MHA programme, provided they have secured a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation. Pursuing MHA after BHA creates a strong vertical career pathway in hospital administration, with the BHA providing foundational knowledge and the MHA adding advanced management and leadership skills. This combination is highly valued by hospitals and healthcare organisations for senior administrative roles.
Ques. What is the actual placement record for MHA students, and which hospitals recruit from Sai Group of Institutions?

Students are advised that placement outcomes depend significantly on individual performance and communication skills.
Ques. What is the fee structure for MHA, and why is Year 1 fee higher than Year 2?
Ans. The total fee for the 2-year MHA programme is Rs. 1,86,400. Year 1 tuition is Rs. 84,600 and Year 2 tuition is Rs. 74,600, reflecting a reduction in the second year. Hostel charges of Rs. 9,000 per month are optional and not included in the total above.
