The newly established twelve clubs in the University of Jammu have been given an umbrella term, Utsaah, which denotes the enthusiasm, vigour, and vitality in the students. The main objective of establishing these clubs is to provide an extra space outside the structured curriculum, where a harmonious and holistic development of the personality can take place. It is also in tune with the vision of NEP 2020. By participating in the activities organised by these clubs, students will be able to explore their hidden talent and then exhibit it in a free and open-ended space. The idea is to enhance their interest towards creativity, which can help them in discovering something new within their own self, and all this shall be done in an environment of entertainment.

What are the objectives of the Heritage and Tourism Club at DDE University of Jammu?

The Heritage and Tourism club of the University of Jammu is formed with an objective of creating awareness among the students about tourism activities and to make them understand the significance of maintaining our rich heritage diversity. Also, the function of this club is to harness the strengths and potential of the students in the development of tourism. This club aims to provide practical experience to the students, scholars, faculty and society at large, including alumni of the University of Jammu. The main objective is to ignite a passion for tourism and its value in learners and to encourage, teach and propagate responsible and sustainable tourism and heritage practices.

What is the Peer Review Policy followed at DDE University of Jammu?

University of Jammu owns the Copyright of the research papers/ scholarly articles published in Researcher. Research papers/ scholarly articles published in the Researcher should not be reproduced/ reprinted in any form without prior written permission from the Convener, Publication Cell, University of Jammu. This Journal operates a double-blind peer review process. All contributions are initially assessed by the Editorial Board for suitability for the Journal. Research paper/ scholarly article deemed suitable is sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the quality of the paper/article. The Editorial Board is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of research paper/ scholarly article based on the reviewers' comments. The Editorial Board's decision shall be final.

Placement Experience:

Since it's a distance education institute, not much is expected in terms of internship or placement. Internship has to be done on our own. The institute also has a placement cell which acts as a mediator between the students and the recruiters to make them industry ready. The University organizes job fair where various MNCs participate. 10-15% of the North Indian companies like HCL, Hyundai, SBI, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, etc., recruit the deserving students.

Distance doesn't matter

The college provides sufficient placements. Various reputed companies like HCL, Hyundai, SBI, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, etc., visited the campus for placements. Roles like executives, managers, HR, accountants were offered. Most of them got selected for their jobs. Our university also has a placement cell which acts as a mediator between the students and the organisations.

Placement and Internship opportunities are less than par. It being a distant education centre, one can't expect much in the internship and placement opportunities as it is. Students have to look for their own internships, and the placement opportunities are also seldom.

Placement are not there in the institute, we are not given placement through any campus selection or another, we have to try and get job only by us and we have to try that. There is no internship facilities provided by the college.

Best place for commerce

The college management maintain a special team for the placement. They used to train every students by giving them a knowledge of commerce and guidance to perform their best in the placement recruitment. Also the college used to provide the best company for all the students every year.

The placement wing of our college is very helpful to students as they give us the required training and knowledge about the placements. We have different workshops and seminars for different courses , personal contact programmes are also conducted to guide students .Day to day counselling programs is also very helpful.
