Is XIME kochi worth joining to pursue PGDM?

Likes

Harvard based Case studies and real life projects are integral part of the curriculum. This helps to gain practical knowledge and exposure.
Personal focus on every student by respective faculties. Faculties are highly approachable and offers guidance and support whenever needed.
Infrastructure is neither too great nor too worst. The college provides all the basic amenities and sports facilities also.

Dislikes

The college is situated in outskirts of kochi and nearby there are not very places available to visit. Transportation is big issue here. It is expensive and except ola uber you don't have many options

Internships Opportunities:

The college have summer internship program committee which is responsible for calling and getting companies on board. Although the college struggles to get all students find internship opportunities and most of the students at the end have to find the internship on their own

Likes

The campus overall experience is very good.
Hostel has good infrastructure and clean environment
Faculties are very supportive and ready to help always

Dislikes

Hostel food I don't like at all, especially lunch.
There are very less outing places nearby college.

Internships Opportunities:

The college provides decent internship opportunities. The companies coming for the internships are EY, Mane Kancor, etc. The average stipend they provide is 7000 rs and the highest is 35000 rs. They provide roles in all the management domains such as HR, Finance, Operations, and Marketing.

Faculty coordination with students, neatness of campus

The only negative aspect here is the travel cost here

Summer Internship programs are conducted here, college does provide internships but it is better not to rely fully on college and better to look on your on interests and also live projects are provided.

A home away from home where diversity is not just a word.

Likes

The constant contact with industry experts and industry visit, it gives you a lot of exposure and experience.
The faculty with their rich experience helps us to understand the life beyond studies.
The diversity which is the colleges biggest strength as you get to learn about different cultures and can work better with teams.

Dislikes

The attendance can loosen up a bit but its for our own benefit too
The mess food is one issue which we are facing but the authority is trying to improve it.

Internships Opportunities:

The SIPs start to come as early as September and October in various roles be it finance, marketing, sales, HR etc. Companies like EY and Oxane Traders come to the campus for SIPs and offer a good stipend of 30-35k/month. Other than that various sales role internships come to the college. The SIPs are of two months and there is another provision in place of SIP, which is an exchange programme to Nagoya University one of top 100 universities in the world where two people are selected to join. The roles companies come for are portfolio manager, tech risk, BDA, market research intern, Hr Intern etc

An honest review about XIME-Kochi.

Likes

Teachers are the best players here. Especially Alok sir, Elizabeth ma'am, Girish sir and Amitabh sir. This is the best faculty you will get to improve yourself in every way possible.
Placements. 100 percent students are placed every year with an average package of 10.3 lac.
Discipline- The campus teaches you discipline, punctuality which is very important in the corporate world. You will already start getting the feel of that.

Dislikes

Rules that are put only on girls and the same thing is ignored for the boys. If safety is point of view it can also be put in many different ways but they don't realise that.
Mess food. North Indian people it is a little tough to adjust. Non-vegetarian food is good vegetarian people will have to adjust at times.

Internships Opportunities:

Internships provided here are good. HR intern, finance intern, sales, market analysis, etc are the roles offered. Stipend will range from 35 k as highest and unpaid aswell. You can work on live projects and internship in Kochi itself before getting placed in the summer internship programme.

From the eyes of a XIME student

Likes

Hostel rooms are a plus point here. They are clean and have windows for ventilation.
The library is like a treasure. I can spend my whole day here.

Dislikes

The food here is average. They do not have many options in snacks.
We do not get much holidays. Getting holidays here is a tough thing.

Internships Opportunities:

Internships for all domains are being offered from sales to analytics. Live Projects are being provided. They are a great source of practical learning in a short span of time. Small as well as big companies provide such opportunities.

The batch 2023-2025 summer internship process has already started from 2nd term onwards and 4 students have already been placed. Companies that offered summer internships before are Tata Global Beverages, Titan, KPMG, EY, Hungerbox, Yamaha, Federal Bank, etc.

XIME is a wonderful place, I really liked corporate exposure, and the faculty members of XIME
The regular speaker sessions with various corporate gaints
The busy life, people who love to learn, XIME is the place

Hostel food, the food some times not up to the mark

There are many top companies that college provides interships like- EY BRITANNIA HILTON TATA STEELS KOCHI SHIPYARD etc the average stipend is around 30k, there is and SIP team which keep on sendind companies to the students, So, any of the students cannot be missed out.
