The MBBS course is a four and half year followed by one year compulsory rotatory residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, child health, orthopaedics, emergency medicine and various specialties.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students should have passed the 10+2 examination or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any equivalent exam conducted by any state Board or Equivalent.
- Candidates should have secured a minimum 50% Aggregate marks in PCB.
- Aspirants should have completed the minimum age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS course.
Selection Procedure
- Candidates aspiring to take admission in MBBS course offered by Government Medical College, Kollam must appear for the NEET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- Admission to all the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges / institutions / universities will be offered through counselling based on the cut off scores.
- Admission to Government Medical College, Kollam is done through All India Medical Counselling.

Since it's a government college admission is based upon the rank in NEET. Better ranks offer better colleges .Since our college is an ESIC hospital, their are seat reservations for esic students
And there are cubicles in our colleges for helping students with admission procedures .

it definitely wasn't my first Choice, which was government medical College, Calicut then trivandrum and Kottayam.
you have to have achieved a good enough rank in NEET UG examination to get into any of the government collages

I got admission to this college through my Kerala rank which was based on the NEET 2020 exam. The application form and fees and application dates are available from the keam site itself. Also, we can get admission to this college based on NEET rank as this is an ESIC college. So those who have ESIC have special reservations. Every admission procedure is so simple. And college is also good

Qualified faculties. Good infrastructure. Admission through CEE and MCC ( Both all India quota and esic quota ). The college have started just in 2017 yet conducted the south zone art fest. Have all facilities required for doing mbbs as labs dissection hall forensic lab etc.
