The College offers MBBS -Under Graduate Course with a total intake of 110 seats every year. 10+2 qualified students can apply for admission.

The MBBS course is a four and half year followed by one year compulsory rotatory residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, child health, orthopaedics, emergency medicine and various specialties. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students should have passed the 10+2 examination or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any equivalent exam conducted by any state Board or Equivalent.
  • Candidates should have secured a minimum 50% Aggregate marks in PCB.
  • Aspirants should have completed the minimum age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS course.

Selection Procedure

  • Candidates aspiring to take admission in MBBS course offered by Government Medical College, Kollam must appear for the NEET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • Admission to all the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges / institutions / universities will be offered through counselling based on the cut off scores.
  • Admission to Government Medical College, Kollam is done through All India Medical Counselling.
  • The candidates who will qualify the cut off score set for the college will be granted admission to MBBS course offered by Government Medical College, Kollam.

The candidates can apply for a scholarship at the beginning of an academic year. However, the candidates can also apply for a government scholarship offered by the Government of Kerala. The list of merit based scholarships is given below:

The age limit is 17 years.Moreover the student should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in PCB/Biotech combined from any recognized board or institution.
