Government College of Pharmacy Karad is the first government institution in Maharashtra established in 1964. The college is affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur. GCOPK Admission is entirely based on the merit list of the last qualifying examination and entrance examination score. The college offers admission to two undergraduate courses, namely BPharma and BPharma (Lateral) and one diploma course, namely DPharma. It offers admission to MPharma based on the score obtained on the GPAT. For admission to BPharma and BPharma (Lateral), candidates must clear MHT-CET.
Admission to DPharma at GCOPK is completely based on the merit list released by the college. For admission into PhD one must have completed their post-graduation from a reputed college. Candidates clearing the MHT-CET must appear for the counselling conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell). Counselling for admission to GCOPK is conducted by the DMER, Maharashtra, through the Common Admission Process (CAP) based on MHT-CET scores. MCC conducts counselling for seats reserved under All India Quota.

The admission process completely handled by University and it's the same as the engineering admission procedure. It's a very high-profile college in the region of west Maharastra. There are highly qualified faculties, a lab with good technical support huge library contains about 25 to 30 k books related to the pharmacy. Also the number. Of student's study and research on various projects. College staff gives an opportunity to students to learn management so by Gymkhana students can manage every event each year.
Its a 4 year course, the course is recognised by govt bodies. Our college is govt college and the course is well developed. Few of them which we would learn in this course are nanoparticlesDrug Delivery System, biotechnology, bioplastics,Controlled Drug Delivery System,Solubilization,Mucoadhesive, Gastro Retentive,Extruder,Microparticulate Drug Delivery System, Oral Dispersible Formulation Technology,Transdermal drug delivery system and etc. We have regular classes in labs and they are good.
This is a 2 years course, M. Pharma course curriculum of our college is good and is with high standards. The examination pattern of this college is followed by the guidelines given by university. The course structure is good and is focussed on research. We have practical classes which are very important and they help us very much.
The course curriculum is really student friendly as it helps amd motivates the student to concentrate on the knowledge and not run after the marks. The exam structure is also not very hectic and it allows the students to score without getting much pressure.
