Hostel Facilities:
# HBTU Hostel Life: Real Student Experience
Hostel facility in HBTU look like typical government engineering college accommodation - basic, functional, not luxury. My hostel building old type, three-story structure with shared rooms. Two-three students share single room, maximum four students in one space. Room size around 15x15 feet, with basic furniture - steel bed, small study table, wooden almirah for keeping clothes and books.
Hostel infrastructure have basic facilities. Bathroom condition not five-star, but manageable. Hot water available during winter season through manual geyser. Mess food quality average - typical dal, rice, chapati routine. Morning breakfast simple, lunch and dinner have limited vegetarian options. Cleanliness depend on student's own management. Warden strict about discipline, entry time, and noise control.
Rent for hostel approximately ?30,000-?45,000 per year, including basic accommodation and mess charges. For students who cannot get hostel, rented accommodation near campus cost around ?4,000-?6,000 per month. Shared apartment common strategy - 3-4 students share single room to reduce individual expense. Location mostly in Kalyanpur area, close to HBTU campus.
Electricity, water, Internet facilities basic but functional. No AC, no fancy amenities. Students adjust and create own comfort zone. Hostel life mean learning adjustment, making friends, sharing resources, and creating engineering brotherhood. Not comfortable, but memorable experience!
