JLUBS BMS FAQs
Ques. Is BMS (HR) at JLUBS a good option compared to BBA at the same college? What is the difference in fees and career scope?
Ans. The BMS (HR) at JLUBS is a more specialised programme compared to the general BBA. While BBA costs Rs. 1,00,000 per year, BMS costs Rs. 1,65,000 per year, reflecting the more intensive curriculum. BMS (HR) is better suited for students who are clear about pursuing a career in human resources, talent management, or organisational development. BBA, on the other hand, offers a broader management foundation. If you plan to pursue an MBA in HR later, BMS (HR) gives you a stronger subject-specific base. Many BMS students at JLU go on to pursue MBA programmes after graduation.
Ques. From which semester do placements start at JLUBS for BMS students, and what kind of companies visit?
Ans. Campus placements at JLUBS begin from the 5th semester for BMS students. Companies such as Reliance Retail, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Byju's, Yash Technologies, The Times Group, Muthoot Finance, and various media houses have visited the campus for recruitment. The highest package for BMS students has been reported at around 6 LPA, with an average of approximately 2.5 LPA. A significant portion of BMS students also opt for higher studies (MBA) rather than direct placements.
Ques. Does JLU offer internship opportunities during the BMS programme, and are they mandatory?
Ans. Yes, JLU facilitates internship opportunities for BMS students, typically after the 4th semester. The university organises an annual Career Fair that provides both internship and job opportunities. Internships are an integral part of the curriculum and help students gain practical HR exposure before final placements. Several students have reported securing internships at companies through the college's placement cell and the Career Fair.
Ques. What is the JLURET exam pattern, and how important is it for BMS admission? Can I get admission without appearing for it?
Ans. JLURET (Jagran Lakecity University Research Entrance Test) is an online test conducted in multiple rounds before the batch starts. The test has two parts: Part A consists of MCQs (60% weightage) and Part B includes a Personal Interview and other rounds (40% weightage). While JLURET is the primary route, JLU also accepts valid CUET UG scores as an alternative. So yes, you can seek admission using your CUET score without appearing for JLURET, provided you clear the PI round.
Ques. Is the BMS programme at JLU under NEP? What does the Honours degree option mean for students?
Ans. Yes, the BMS programme at JLU is offered under the National Education Policy (NEP) framework. Under NEP, the standard BMS degree is awarded after 3 years. However, students who choose to continue for a 4th year become eligible for a BMS (Honours) degree. This additional year provides deeper specialisation and research exposure, making graduates more competitive for MBA admissions or corporate roles. Students should confirm the specific 4th-year curriculum and exit options with the admissions office at the time of joining.
Ques. What hostel options are available for BMS students at JLU, and is hostel accommodation guaranteed?
Ans. JLU offers on-campus hostel accommodation for both boys and girls separately. On-campus rooms range from triple occupancy (Rs. 50,000/year) to single AC occupancy (Rs. 1,04,000/year), with mess charges of Rs. 75,600/year additional. Boys from the 2nd year onwards can also opt for off-campus accommodation at slightly lower rates. Hostel accommodation is not automatically guaranteed and is subject to availability; students are advised to apply for hostel early. The hostel includes facilities such as gym, swimming pool, Wi-Fi, and library access till late evening.
