Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Ancient History is a two-year postgraduate course for those who have a peculiar interest in Ancient History of India.It imparts theoretical knowledge of civilizations, archaeology, arts, literature from the pre-historic period until the thirteenth century A.D. and provides an integrated course incorporating the ideas and antiquities of the medieval period.

The basic eligibility is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferably history or Arts with a minimum of 50% aggregate. The duration of the program is 2 years making up 4 semesters. The tuition fees is around 20,000 INR in government institutions and 50,000 INR in private colleges.

After completing this course, students can work in the field of tourism, law, Administration as Record Managers, Museum Curators, Information Officer etc. Average salaryfor a fresher is 96,000 INR - 1 Lakh INR and can go up to5 lakhs with some years of experience.
