CSIBER BCA FAQs
Ques. Is BCA at CSIBER a 3-year or 4-year programme?
Ans. As per NEP 2020, BCA at CSIBER is offered as a 3-year or 4-year programme. Students can exit after Year 1 with a Certificate, after Year 2 with a Diploma, after Year 3 with a BCA degree, or continue for a 4th year to earn BCA (Honours). The standard BCA degree is awarded after 3 years (6 semesters).
Ques. Is MAH BCA CET mandatory for admission to BCA at CSIBER?
Ans. Yes. Admission to BCA at CSIBER is through the MAH BCA CET conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. Candidates must register and appear for the MAH BCA CET 2026 (scheduled April 28-30, 2026) and participate in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE Maharashtra.
Ques. What is the difference between BCA and B.Sc. Computer Science at CSIBER?
Ans. Both programmes are offered at CSIBER under the School of Computer Science and Applications. BCA is an AICTE-approved programme with a stronger focus on computer applications, software development, and IT industry skills. B.Sc. Computer Science is a science-stream programme affiliated to Shivaji University with a broader science foundation. BCA graduates are typically more industry-ready for IT roles, while B.Sc. CS graduates have a stronger science base for research or further studies.
