Velammal Medical College And Hospital Research Institute Madurai Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Eligibility Criteria

1. The student should have passed any examination equivalent to H.S.C. / (10+2) examination, of any recognized Board/ University.
2. He/ She should have scored a minimum of 50% with physics, chemistry, biology and English as mandatory. A 10% relaxation in marks is given to the reserved categories including SC/ ST/ OBC. For PwD candidates, the minimum qualifying score is 45%.

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria

• The student must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or should complete it on or before 31st December of the year of admission. The upper limit is 25 years (as on the date of examination) for general category and 30 years for SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates.
• Non Resident Indians (NRI), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons with Indian Origin (PIO) are also eligible.

Selection Criteria

1. The candidates need to appear for the entrance examination NEET UG.
2. Those who qualify the minimum required score and the eligibility criteria shall be eligible for the counselling and shall be allotted a seat on the basis of the merit list prepared.

How to Apply for MBBS at Velammal Medical College Madurai?

1. All interested candidates applying for admission need to register themselves, pay the registration fees, submit and lock their choices for the first round on the MCC Portal.
2. Those who will be allotted a seat in the first round need to report to the institute with the required documents and complete the admission formalities. They can either accept or leave their seat. They will have an option to participate in the 2nd round of counselling.
3. Those who are not allotted a seat in the first round can participate in the second round. The candidates need to make a fresh submission of choices. New registration facility is also available.
4. Those allotted a seat in the 2nd round have an option to exit with forfeiture of security fees INR 10,000/- within 2 days. To complete the admission formalities, the candidates need to report to the institute with the required documents.

NOTE- Candidates who join in the 2nd round (15% AIQ Quota will not be allowed to leave their seat.

The candidates need to carry the following documents along with the attested photocopies:

1. NEET Admit and Rank card.
2. Class 10th Certificate and Mark sheet
3. Class 12th Certificate and Mark Sheet
4. NEET  Seat Allotment letter
5. 8 passport size photographs
6. Identity proof( Passport/ Driving License/ Aadhar Card/ PAN card)
7. Category Certificate (if applicable)

Besides MBBS, Velammal Medical College also provides DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) for a duration of 2 years.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
2.  Candidates should have passed H.S.C with any one of the following  categories of subjects in the state board of Tamilnadu or equivalent:
   1. Physics, Chemistry and Biology with any other subject.
   2. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
   3. Only vocational Medical Laboratory Assistant course.
3. The lower age limit is 17 years of age and a general category candidate should not have completed 32 years as on 31st December. The upper age limit is 37 years as on 31st December for SC/ST candidates.

NOTE- Those who have passed HSC in the Open University system/ open schooling system are not eligible.

Selection Criteria

The candidates need to fill the application form available on the official website after which they will have to report to the institute with the required documents.

How to Apply for DMLT at Velammal Medical College Madurai?

1. The candidates need to fill the application form.
2. The application cost should be paid only through DD favoring Velammal medical College Hospital & Research Institute, payable at Madurai.
3. A recent passport sized photograph needs to be affixed in the designated space. Also, the candidates need to enclose self attested photocopy of 12th / HSC or equivalent mark sheets along with the form.
4. For the seat selection process, the students must carry the necessary original documents along with two attested Xerox copies.
