REC B.Tech Fees
On a TNEA government quota seat the fee is INR 2.40 Lakhs for an NBA accredited branch and INR 2.20 Lakhs for a branch not yet accredited. Tuition is INR 55,000 or INR 50,000 a year, set by the state, and you pay INR 5,000 a year in development charges on top. The college also charges INR 15,000 a year for placement and training. You need Maths, Physics and Chemistry in Class 12, with an average of 45% in the three for OC and 40% for other communities. TNEA ranks you on these marks out of 200, so there is no entrance exam. The same rule holds in every branch. Diploma holders can join in the second year.

REC B.Tech Scholarships
The post-matric scholarship pays the full tuition fee for SC, SCA and ST students with family income up to INR 2.5 Lakhs. The first graduate concession takes INR 27,500 a year off an accredited branch. Both need a TNEA government quota seat, and you apply through the college after you join.

Information Technology (IT)
300 seats. Closes at 11,917 for OC in TNEA 2025. NBA accredited, INR 55,000 a year.
Pick it if:
You want the branch with the longest record here: Information Technology started in 1998, so it has the oldest alumni base of any B.Tech branch at REC.
You hold an OC rank inside the IT close: it was the toughest B.Tech branch to get in TNEA 2025, so put it first on your list.
You want a big batch with many classmates in computing: its 300 seats make it the second largest B.Tech branch after AI and Data Science.
Skip it if:
You want the lowest tuition on the campus: IT is NBA accredited, so tuition is INR 55,000 a year, INR 5,000 more than the branches not yet accredited.

You want a computing branch at a lower fee: AI and Data Science is not yet NBA accredited, so tuition is INR 50,000 a year, not INR 55,000.
You want the most classmates in computing: it has 360 seats, the largest B.Tech intake at REC, so the batch is big at every placement drive.

Skip it if:
