TCET BBA FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between BBA at TCET and BBA at other Mumbai colleges? Is TCET a good choice for BBA?
Ans. TCET is primarily known as an engineering college, and the BBA programme was launched only in AY 2024-25. While the programme is new, TCET's strong infrastructure, industry tie-ups (Accenture, Tata Technologies, CISCO), and placement cell provide BBA students with resources that are typically not available at standalone BBA colleges. The NAAC "A" grade accreditation and University of Mumbai affiliation ensure academic credibility. However, students should note that the BBA department is still in its early stages with a small faculty strength. For students who want a tech-integrated business education in a well-resourced campus environment in Mumbai, TCET's BBA is a strong option, especially for Hindi-speaking students who benefit from the 51% minority quota.
Ques. What CET score is required for BBA admission at TCET Mumbai?
Ans. Since TCET's BBA programme was launched only in 2024-25, limited historical CET cutoff data is available. However, based on the seat distribution (51% Hindi Linguistic Minority, 29% CAP, 20% Institute-Level Quota), the effective competition for open category CAP seats is limited. For Hindi-speaking students claiming the minority quota, the CET score requirement is generally lower than the open category. Students are advised to monitor the official CAP counselling portal (mahacet.org) after the CET result for the actual cutoff scores. Appearing for the MAH BBA/BMS/BBM CET 2026 (28-30 April 2026) is mandatory for CAP-based admission.
Ques. Does TCET offer a 5-year Integrated BBA+MBA programme, and how is it different from the standalone BBA?
Ans. Yes, TCET offers a 5-year Integrated BBA+MBA programme with an intake of 60 seats, launched in AY 2025-26. This programme combines the BBA and MBA degrees into a single 5-year course, saving one year compared to doing BBA (3 years) and MBA (2 years) separately. Admission to the Integrated BBA+MBA is also through the MAH BBA/BMS/BBM CET followed by CAP counselling. Students who are clear about pursuing an MBA after BBA may find the integrated programme more efficient. The standalone BBA (3 years) is suitable for students who want flexibility to explore options after graduation, including MBA from other institutes, PGDM, MMS, or direct employment.
Ques. What are the placement opportunities for BBA students at TCET Mumbai?
Ans. TCET's placement cell is well-established for its engineering programmes, with 823 offers and 445 placements in 2026, with the highest package at 21 LPA. However, since the BBA programme was launched only in 2024-25, the first batch of BBA graduates will complete their degree in 2027-28. Dedicated BBA placement data is not yet available. That said, BBA students at TCET benefit from the same placement infrastructure, industry connections, and campus recruitment drives as engineering students. Companies like Accenture, Capgemini, Infosys, JP Morgan Chase, TCS, and Tech Mahindra visit TCET for campus recruitment. BBA graduates can expect roles in business development, marketing, finance, and HR with these companies.
Ques. Is hostel facility available for BBA students at TCET Mumbai?
Ans. Yes, TCET has hostel facilities available for students. As per a notice dated 9th September 2025, hostel availability was announced for newly admitted students of AY 2025-26. Hostel rent was revised in July 2025. Students interested in hostel accommodation should contact the TCET administration directly at the time of admission, as hostel seats are limited and allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. The hostel fees are separate from the course fees and are not included in the INR 3.15 Lakhs total BBA course fee.
Ques. Can students from outside Maharashtra or non-Hindi speaking students get admission to TCET's BBA programme?
Ans. Yes, students from outside Maharashtra and non-Hindi speaking students can apply for TCET's BBA programme. The 29% CAP seats are open to all eligible candidates based on MAH BBA/BMS/BBM CET scores, regardless of language or domicile. The 20% Institute-Level Quota seats are also available for direct admission through the institute. However, the 51% Hindi Linguistic Minority seats are reserved for students who declare Hindi as their mother tongue and submit a Linguistic Minority Affidavit. Students from outside Maharashtra should note that domicile-based reservations apply for certain categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), and they may not be eligible for Maharashtra state government scholarships unless they have a valid Maharashtra domicile certificate.
