Surendranath Evening College was established in 1961 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is affiliated with the University of Calcutta. It offers undergraduate courses under the Departments of Science, Arts, and Commerce. Surendranath Evening College was established with the four most essential subjects- Bengali, English, Hindi and now offers Science and Commerce courses too.

The college conducts online application process for all its courses.
Admissions to all undergraduate courses are done on the basis of merit list of aggregate marks obtained in Class XII examination.
Candidates are given admission to the first year if they have passed XII in General or Vocational Stream conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination.
Students passing 10+2 from Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya or National Open School recognized by the Distant Learning Council are also eligible to apply.

Surendranath Evening College offers General and Honors courses in B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com in multiple specializations. Admission process is completely online. Online application process is started just after the announcement of the results of the Higher Secondary Examination (Class XII) of state board and other Boards. Apply for UG Courses

Key points for admission:

Candidate seeking honours course in a subject must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the related subject at the previous qualifying examination
Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category taking Honours Course must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the related subjects.

Surendranath Evening College Application Process 2024

Applicants are required to fill in online applications for taking admission. Following is the process to fill online application form for Surendranath Evening College:

Open the official website of college and click on Apply Online.
Fill the application form with all the required fields carefully.
Upload the scanned copy of Photo, Signature, and other documents.
Submit the application fee and submit the form.
The admission fee is INR 110 for B.Sc. Honours, INR 85 for B.Sc. General, INR 85 for B.Com. Honours, INR 80 for B.Com. General and INR 75 and 50 for B.A. Honours and General respectively.
Take a printout of form for future reference.
Make sure to keep its student copy and college copy safe for further use.

Note: After that as per the schedule candidates will have to verify their documents and submit the tuition fee. The fee is to be submitted at the time of taking admission.

Documents that have to be submitted with the application form:

Admit card and the mark sheet of class X & XII
Age verification certificate e.g. admit card of class-X
Recent passport size photograph
A certificate of character from the Head of the Institution last attended
Migration Certificate
Other relevant documents, as may be considered necessary by the college admission board.

Note: Admission will be considered as cancelled if students fail to report within the scheduled date for documents verification. Admission of students from other Universities or Board is liable to cancellation provided they fail to submit the migration certificate in time.

Affordable college in the heart of kolkata

Admission:

Surendranath college is one of the most oldest and prestigious college in kolkata with reach history of academic excellence. The college has a team of experience and dedicated members who are expert in there respective feild. I have applied to many other college but the vacancy was not available. We have to fill out the form on the college website providing personal and academic details,then we have to pay the required application fees. After clearing the merit list we have to go through the admission process.

Honest view of a student

Admission:

definitely, I want improvement in the admission process. Sometimes we as a student don't know where we have to check our application form or from where we can get the checklist of colleges. They should improve their process. As students, we would like to know the fee structure first from the college so it's far better for us whether we should take admission or not.

You have to 12th passed with a minimum percentage of 60. The application form is available on an online basis with applicable charges. There don't any reserved seats for any category, the selection depends on the percentage.
