St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, was started by the Ranchi Jesuit Society in July 1944. St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, offers 48 undergraduate, postgraduate, and vocational courses. The major courses offered by the college include BBA, B.Sc., B.Ed., B.Com., BA, and MCA. The admission criteria are different for each program. St. Xavier’s Ranchi offers B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com. programs as undergraduate courses. Both the B.A. and B.Sc. courses are offered with seven different honors subjects.

All the UG courses are offered for a duration of three years. The application procedure for all these UG courses, i.e., the availability of applications for the UG courses, starts by the end of May. 

The students who have completed their 10+2 examination from their respective boards are eligible to apply, and the admission to these courses is based on the merit of the candidates. No entrance test is conducted by the college for admission to these courses

B.Com. (Honours) Accounts Maths/Business Maths is compulsory at the class XI + XII level. For B.Com (H), math/business math is compulsory. Those who didn’t opt for math/business math in class XII can also apply. However, if selected without math, the students will have to do a bridge course for which additional hours and fees will be required for one year. Candidates applying for B.Com (H) should pass in commerce subjects, and the aggregate in commerce subjects should be more than 50%. 720

St. Xavier's Ranchi PG Admission 2025

St. Xavier’s Ranchi offers a master’s degree in arts with six different subjects, namely English, Hindi, economics, political science, geography, and history, along with a master’s degree in commerce and journalism and mass communication.

All these courses are for a duration of two years, and candidates applying for these courses must have attained a bachelor’s degree in the concerned field. 

The application process for these courses starts in the month of June. Admission to all these courses except for M.Com is through an entrance test conducted by the college. Admission to the M.Com course is based entirely on the merit of the candidates.

St. Xavier's Ranchi MCA Admission 2025

St. Xavier’s Ranchi also offers a Master in Computer Application (M.C.A.) degree for the graduates in computer applications. The MCA course is offered for a duration of two years.

The application procedure for the M.C.A. course starts in the month of June, and the eligible candidates need to sit for an entrance test conducted by the Department of Computer Science in the college.
