Karnataka Theological Research Institute, Mangalore (KATHRI) was established in 1976 and running under the Karnataka Christian Educational Society. It is public institute and affiliated to Kannada University (KU). College offers Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy in Kannada & History fields. KATHRI is presently engaged in the ‘Basel Mission Heritage Project’.

KATHRI organize various seminars, conferences related to the theological issues. It also invite old students of the college for discussions on important issues.
