Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center was established in the year of 1989 as a part of International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers (ISYVC). It is a non-profit organization of Swami Vishnu Devananda. The college offers many courses in yoga and meditation for beginners, intermediate as well as for the advanced practitioners.
All the activities of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center are based on five principles which are Proper Breathing (Pranayama), Proper Diet (Vegetarian), Positive Thinking and Meditation (Vedanta and Dhyana), Proper Relaxation (Savasana), Proper Exercise (Asanas). The college has conducted Workshop programs Conquest of Anger, Mantra and Kirtan, Prana the Vital Energy etc.
