Bagnan College Howrah Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

BA is three year course offered in the morning and day shift by the Bagnan college. BA general is offered in total 14 subjects with few in morning and few in day shift, however BA Hons. is offered in 6 subjects.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with minimum 50% aggregate in four subjects and 45% in the subject sought for Hons. are eligible to apply for BA and BSc. College selects candidates based on the merit in the qualifying examination.

Application process is online. Candidates have to register themselves as new applicant through college’s official website and submit the form online. The minimum eligibility for admission in B.A program:

• There is a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate marks for SC/ST/OBC/PH (physically handicapped)
• Candidates must have English paper of 100 marks in the qualifying examination
• For BA (Hons.) – Candidates who do not fulfill the percentage requirements as above can also apply if they score a minimum of 55% in the subject sought for Hons.
• For BA general, candidates must have an aggregate more than 200 in the qualifying examination.

BSc general and BSc Hons. is of 3 years. BSc Hons. can be done in 4 subjects whereas BSc General is offered in Pure Science and Biological Science category. Subjects are as given in the below table.

BSc course is provided in the Day Shift only. Candidates passed in 10+2 from a recognized board with minimum 50% aggregate in four subjects and 45% in the subject sought for Hons. are eligible to apply for BSc. College selects candidates based on the merit in the qualifying examination.

The application process is online. Interested candidates can apply online through college’s official website followed by online payment and form submission. The minimum eligibility for admission in BSc program:

• There is a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate marks for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates.
• Candidates must have passed English paper of 100 marks in the qualifying examination
• For BSc (Hons.) – Candidates who do not fulfill the percentage requirements as above can also apply if they score a minimum of 55% in the subject sought for Hons.
• For BSc Hons. in Economics, passing in mathematics is a mandatory requirement.

The duration of B. Com General and B. Com Hons. offered by the institute is 3 years. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks and 45% marks in the subject or subject related at the previous qualifying examination. The selection of the candidates is based on the percentage obtained in 10+2 examination.

The process to apply for admission is online. The minimum eligibility for admission in B. Com course:

• 5% relaxation is given to SC/ST/OBC/PH in the percentage required for the course.
• English is a mandatory subject to be passed in the qualifying examination.
• B. Com General
  1. Those who have passed10+2 vocational examination in Business and Commerce organized by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training can also apply for this course.
  2. Candidates with 5 years gap in studies after the previous qualifying examination will not be allowed to for admission.
• B. Com Hons.
  1. For this course, the aggregate marks will be calculated by adding marks in the top-four subjects in order of marks secured by the candidates.
  2. Candidates with 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination can also apply.

• Candidates have to click on the “Online Application” tab
• Registration as a new applicant has to be done followed by filling of the details
• After the application form is submitted, candidates will receive an acknowledgment and form number through which candidates will login at the application portal and make the application fee payment
• The payment can be completed through challan or online mode.

    Documents required at the time of admission are:-

1. All the mark sheets
2. 10^th  and 12^th certificates
3. Proof of date of birth
4. Caste certificate (if applicable)
5. 2 passport size colored photographs

The college displays the merit list on the website and college notice board. Candidates short listed have to get the documents verified and pay the course fee.
