Admission to the college is merit-based, with a process starting 2 to 3 days after application submission. Applicants must submit within 3 days of receiving their board results, and selected candidates are notified via SMS. Fees for aided courses range from 5,000 to 10,000 annually, while unaided courses cost between 40,000 and 65,000 per year, plus approximately 3,000 for exam fees each semester. The college provides merit-based financial aid to half of the students and offers different fee structures for aided and sports quota students.
A robust placement cell attracts top companies like Goldman Sachs, Google, and TCS, with placement opportunities primarily for 2nd and 3rd-year students maintaining a 60% academic score. Although the B.Com department lacks an internal internship program, students must complete a one-month external internship in summer, submitted in the 5th semester for a viva examination. Faculty are well-qualified and approachable, but the frequent use of Tamil may be challenging for students preferring English.
Scholarships are available, with special considerations for aided and quota students, who also have different exam dates.
