Nilkanthrao Shinde Science and Arts College, Chandrapur was established in 1993 by Shri. Nilkanthrao Y. Shinde. The college is affiliated Gondwana University, Gadchiroli and is operated by Bhadrawati Shikshan Sanstha, Bhadrawati. The governing body of the institute is behind some of the well-known educational institutions in Bhadrawati. Various awards and achievements - In the year 2013 and 2011, the Nilkanthrao Shinde Science and Arts College, Chandrapur received IAAM Scientist award in Turkey and China respectively. In the 2nd Bhartiya Vigyan Sammelan, the college was on second place for Young Scientist Award. It won first prize for Best Poster presentation award in two consecutive years 2009 and 2010.
