Admission to the college is based on a merit list derived from 12th-grade marks, with no group discussions or written tests, except for some courses like the CA batch, which might require interviews. The admission process is straightforward, starting with purchasing a prospectus for around Rs 300 and culminating with document verification and fee payment. The previous cut-off was 85%, and the first 250 students are accepted. Fees for the B.Com course start at Rs 32,000 annually, with a yearly increment of Rs 1,000.
The payment is split into two installments, Rs 20,000 and Rs 12,000 respectively. Scholarships of Rs 10,000 are available for those scoring above 75%, and fee concessions are provided for students with financial difficulties. Placement opportunities become available from the 5th semester, with companies like Bharti Airtel and HDFC Bank visiting the campus. However, the availability of placements and the presence of a dedicated placement cell are inconsistent. The estimated placement rate is 80%, with salaries ranging from INR 15,000 to 25,000, and some offers going up to INR 2-2.5 lakh per annum.
Despite these opportunities, internships are scarce, potentially affecting job readiness. The college does not offer loan facilities but provides several scholarships, such as those under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Scholarship scheme, Nehru Sidhant Kendra Scholarship, and Senior Citizens Conclave Scholarship. These scholarships, alongside the transparent and competitive fee structure, make education more accessible. The faculty is well-qualified, with many holding doctorate degrees and having industry experience. They focus on student involvement and co-curricular activities, although there are some concerns about attention to students and syllabus completion.
The infrastructure, including air-conditioned B.Com classes, justifies the fee structure. Overall, while the college offers a solid academic foundation, students often pursue higher studies or entrepreneurship due to limited structured placement support.
