Malda College, which started in 1944, is a government-sponsored college and is NAAC accredited. At present, the college offers undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce and Science streams for both Honours as well as General category. Apart from the UG courses, Malda college also offers PG courses in English, Bengali, and History since 2014.
Admission for both Honours as well as General courses for all the streams at UG level is done on the merit basis of marks obtained in 10+2 or equivalent exam. Malda College M.A. admissions 2024
In Post Graduation courses, Malda College offers Master’s degree programme in English, History and Bengali. Candidates who have passes from a recognised board or University with 10+2+3 system or equivalent are eligible for application. A total of 195 seats are available.
Application can be done through both online as well as offline platforms. The process of application starts in July every year and admission is done by September. Admission process is as below:
- 60% of the seats in each of the three subjects are reserved for students from the colleges affiliated to the Gourbanga University. Admission in this quota is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam
- The admission for the remaining 40% of the seats are done on the basis of Open Admission Test.
