MAC Delhi University Scholarship 2025

MAC Delhi University Admission 2025 FAQs

Q4. What is the fee structure for UG courses at MAC Delhi University?

Ans. Since MAC Delhi University is a government college, which is a part of DU, its fees are definitely reasonable as compared to most private colleges. For example, the first-year fee would be approximately 22,890 for the very common B.Sc Electronics course. Also, the annual fees for different UG courses like B.A. (Hons.) and B.Com (Hons.) are also reasonable and typically in the range of 10,000 - 25,000 depending on the course structure and labs. This makes Maharaja Agrasen College a more economical option for students looking for good education with modern infrastructure at reasonable fees.

Ques. Does MAC Delhi University provide reservations in admissions?

Ans. Yes, MAC Delhi University abides by the reservation policy of the University of Delhi. Seats are earmarked for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD as per the rules of the government. In addition to reserved seats, there are also relaxations in minimum eligibility criteria and cut-offs for these categories of students. This ensures that Maharaja Agrasen College upholds inclusivity and provides equal opportunities for students from diverse contexts to access higher education!

Ques. How many seats are available for different subjects in MAC Delhi University?

Ans. The total seat intake at MAC Delhi University is spread out across its 10 UG programs. For example, B.Com (Hons.) has approximately 193 seats, B.A. Program courses have 241 seats, there are 58 seats in B.A.(Hons.) and B.Sc.(Hons.), and there are around 50 seats in diploma or add-on courses. The seat intake may vary slightly from year to year, depending on DU's seat allocation matrix. Maharaja Agrasen College is quite popular in East Delhi, and therefore, competition is tough for the high-demand courses like B.Com (Hons.) and B.A. Journalism.

Ques. Are there any scholarships for students in MAC Delhi University?

Ans. Yes, there are a number of scholarships other than the government-supported scholarships for meritorious and financially challenged students in Maharaja Agrasen College. Some of these scholarships include the MAC Delhi University Student Aid Fund (need-based charity), Sitaram Jindal Foundation scholarship, and support from non-governing bodies like World Brotherhood Organization. These scholarships provide either partial or full assistance, enabling students to meet tuition fees or academic-related expenses. The process is comparatively simple, requiring an application with income and academic certificates to be submitted to the college administration for review.

Ques. How does MAC Delhi University announce its admissions schedule?

Ans. The admission schedule for MAC Delhi University is released on the official DU admission portal (CSAS) in addition to the college website (mac.du.ac.in). The college provides detailed instructions, seat matrices, and notifications about document verifications and cut-off dates. DU will conduct multiple rounds of allocation, and Maharaja Agrasen College will communicate reporting schedule, orientation, and payment of fees to its applicants through official notices. Therefore, it is important for students to regularly check both portals, so that they do not miss any notices.

Maharaja Agrasen College Admissions: Students' Opinion

  • BCom
  • BA

AI-Generated Summary based on 58 Reviews

Maharaja Agrasen College, affiliated with Delhi University, offers admission to the B.Com (Hons.) program primarily through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Applicants need to appear for the CUET, with a required score of approximately 600-650 for the general category, and a minimum of 400 for reserved categories. After CUET results, candidates must register on the DU CSAS portal and fill in their college preference list. Based on this, students may be allotted colleges they prefer and have the choice to either accept the admission (freeze) or opt to wait for subsequent rounds (upgrade) for potentially better options.

Some operational delays are noted with the portal. Direct admissions are also available through the college website, providing detailed information on the process. The college places a strong emphasis on its infrastructure and facilities, contributing to a positive learning environment. Although it is an off-campus institution, it maintains quality in education as a DU constituent. Each academic year consists of two semesters, with exams at the end of each, maintaining a moderate level of difficulty.

Management quota admissions and specific board percentage requirements are not highlighted. The college does not conduct group discussions or personal interviews as part of the admission process.

Admission:

I chose this college based on infrastructure as there wasn't much information available about this college online. Alsoz on the du official website, this college is mentioned as North campus which was a confusion for me at that time as I thought it was true but it wasn't as this is an off campus college of Delhi University. The admissions in the whole of University of Delhi is based on CUET scores. The preferences need to be filled by the students and then he/she is allotted the college according to the cit off and the scores. The subjects that need to be taken in cuet should be the same as in 12th boards. For humanities/arts courses the scores are out of 800. So, for arts courses the normal cit off for general category students are around 650, for obc students around 500 and for sc/st is much lower.

I have given cuet and applied for 50+ college of Delhi University. Which included bachelor in mathematics, bachelors in mathematical sciences and bachelors in biodata and bachelors in botany and bachelors in zoology and many more. And based on the preference list of colleges I got into maharaja agarsen college of Delhi University in the course of bachelor of science ( mathematical science). I choose to proceed with this course as it included all the subject I needed to study and wanted in future. yes , i got rejection from dipsaar college . I applied for bpharma there. But due to my low score i couldn't secure a seat their. Their cutoff was pretty high and I couldn't reach their cut off . The cutoff wa totally based on the result of 12th class. For admission , firstly I filled an admission form online and submit all the official documents online such as birth certificate, addhar card, results of 12th and 10th class and also character certificate. And then I paid the fee online only. Also with the fees I didn't have to pay any additional protection fee. Then we had to visit the college for Orientation day . We were invited through a mail. In the orientation we were given the information about our course ,teachers and classes . Also we were given refreshments . And the addmission process was smooth not at all difficult. I got in the college with 70 percent on my cuet score. And you have to be from science or commerce background also you must have maths in your subjects to apply for this course otherwise you will not be shortlisted for the same.
