Q1. Is GATE mandatory for M.Tech CSE admission at PIET?
Ans. A valid GATE score is preferred for M.Tech CSE admission at PIET. GATE-qualified candidates are also eligible for AICTE stipend of Rs. 12,400 per month. However, candidates without GATE may also be considered for direct admission subject to institute-level criteria and availability of seats. Q2. What is the AICTE stipend for M.Tech students at PIET?
Ans. GATE-qualified M.Tech students at PIET are eligible for AICTE stipend of Rs. 12,400 per month as per AICTE norms. This stipend is available for the entire duration of the M.Tech program (2 years), subject to maintaining satisfactory academic performance. The stipend significantly offsets the total fee cost of Rs. 2.02 Lakhs.
Q3. What are the research areas available for M.Tech CSE at PIET?
Ans. M.Tech CSE at PIET covers advanced research areas including machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning, computer networks, distributed systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science, and software engineering. The specific research area for the thesis/dissertation depends on the availability of a suitable research supervisor at PIET.
Q4. Can M.Tech CSE graduates from PIET become Assistant Professors?
Ans. Yes, M.Tech CSE graduates from PIET (under Kurukshetra University) are eligible for Assistant Professor positions in engineering colleges as per AICTE norms. However, for university-level teaching positions, a Ph.D. or UGC NET qualification is additionally required. M.Tech graduates can also pursue Ph.D. for further academic advancement.
